Cut your humidity down on your fridge and put them in your crisper drawer. Some veggies such as carrots and celery last a long time if you wrap them in foil.

I love them too.. And I also purchase mine like you do so I really buy a lot once I have a chance. What I do is I wrap them in a newspaper or if I buy them in a store where they can wrap it with a good cling wrap it is better... I've observed that the trick there is to keep air or moist from going in to your veggies... and I also divide them according to how much I could only use in one cooking so I won't open the whole pound of it ... once I have wrapped them good I put it in the vegetable compartment or crisper of my ref and I open the window of humidity control of it into full. I do this with all of my vegetables even carrots, lettuce and bellpepper... and it will take like 3 to 4 weeks and my lettuce and broccoli are still green and looks fresh. Make sure it is dry before you keep it. Don't wash it 'til you need to use it. When you have some thing left from the once you open and won't be able to use it yet, put it in a zipped lock but make sure you the air out before keeping them inside the ref. There some fruits that a best out of the ref... you didn't mention what kind of fruits. But mostly you can do the same method. Hope this helps.

1st off, you may be buying too much at a time.
Everything except tomatoes, potatoes get stored in the fridge. Preferrably in a crisper drawer. Keep them in their wrapping. If you get them fresh, put them loose in a plastic container or bag. Don't wash them before you store them, that will minimize moisture. Also - check your fridge settings. If your fridge is running too low - or the door seal is not tight, it will be too warm and the veggies will spoil.

I wash the veggies or fruit, let them dry or help them to dry with a kitchen towel. When they are perfectly dried, I put them in a poliuretane bag, in loose way. It works perfect for me!!

I have also learnt that veg with roots on ( parsely, spring onions, leafy veg etc) placed in a half glass of cold water stay fresh longer. And that a hand of bananas must be hung up to stay fresh and non black longer ! Go figure. Maybe they are tricked into thinking they havent been dug up or plucked yet !

just buy the portion you need for the day,go to market everyday is the best way...if impossible, try to keep the veggies in vacuum condition, this can only slow down the process.....
