My husband had a detached retina when he was younger and had surgery to reattach it. He tried to join the army but was disqualified becuase of this...does anyone know of any branches that would pass him

The military had a standard for medical and physical stature of applicants. Frankly, your husband might also be denied in other branch of service. There are many opportunities outside the military though and better.

ABSOLUTELY NOT. anyone who's had any type of surgery (minor, major, inpatient or outpatient) will not be able to join any Military Service what so ever. You must be extremely HEALTHY from head to toe to pass. They will take all kinds of blood test, x-rays, check past medical records, check for any type of diseases & disorders. This is in the matter of being strong enough & committed to serve your country. There are no absence or excuses allowed for not being able to report to duty due to any medical conditions. Any medical conditions would interfere in your abilities, with that said, the Military prefers EXTREMELY HEALTHY INDIVIDUALS.

None. Hes disabled. You have to be like a machine. Defects put you out.
