He isn't a Christian just because he uses the name. I can claim Im a Dr and even cut people open, but that doesnt mean Im a Dr does it?
He does not walk as Jesus walked... He does not confess Jesus as HIS Savior of HIS sins... because he doesn't think he has any. This man isnt a Christian at all.

If you were completely honest with yourself, I think you'd find that there's more than just a bit of Fred Phelps in *all* people -- including you. Every person has a hidden side where they try to keep their own prejudices and vile nature from showing. It's the human condition and not just reserved for one religious group alone.
And Fred Phelps is a perfect example of what Jesus meant in this passage:
Matthew 7:21-23 "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity."
Just because someone calls themselves a Christian doesn't mean that they are truly obeying the Lord.

WOW this guy is OUT THERE indeed, as far as the little bit I viewed on a page. "God hates WHO?" a Liar is what I've read. Seems to me Fred Phelps is one. I mean isn't it "God is married to the backslider", as the Bible states clearly? And is not sin of any nature besides the few set aside in the Bible to be labeled under different reasonings, simply like all other sin? I mean if you are homosexual aren't you in a backslidden state according to scripture, meaning not within the laws as God created you to be originally? I see nowhere that says he hates a homosexual, and if so WHY would he LOVE & SPARE a HOOKER "Mary Magdalline", and not a homosexual???
I don't believe homosexuality is right according to the Bible [the way I interpret it], but my BEST FRIEND is a gay man!!! This is simply, and should be stated on his site as, "Fred Phelps HATES homosexuals ... NOT God! But Fred Phelps says he loves & lives for God, so YOU should HATE them TOO!"
God HELP that man!!! It is a DANGEROUS thing to say that God HATES anyone, unless His Word says so in plain print!

As a Christian I have to ask myself WHERE in all of God's Word does this man get his justification to spew the putrid bigoted things that he does and DARE to utter the name of Jesus in the same breath! Be not deceived dear one, I am QUITE convinced, that EVERY Bible believing Church in the entire world would denounce the so-called Christian actions of this man and his church!
