If you like shopping, try Rodeo drive.. you'll have to bring the cash, though ;o) I also like the Pantages Theatre.. it's got a lot of history, and the Lion King show there was AWESOME, so good. Disneyland is of course fun, but about 45 minutes - 1 hour away from LA (it's in Orange County). If you do go there, try Medieval Times.. it's so silly that it's fun. Lol. I always enjoy Universal Studios also, the theme park that's kind of based around movies and the studios, etc. If you do go there, go to Jurassic Park the Ride, it's really cool actually. And you MUST take the tram ride tour, it's so interesting. If you like shopping but don't want to spend thousands, try the various shopping centers.. Sherman Oaks Galleria, or Glendale Galleria, and Beverly Center. They also just opened an H&M here, or 2 actually I believe, and that's a really cool store for younger women who are into designer things, but don't always want to spend designer money. There are also lots of tours, although I've never been on one because.. well, I live here lol. Things like tours of the star's homes, etc. You must see the Mann's Chinese theatre, and all those hand/foot prints things, as well as parts of the walk of fame. Six Flags is also a crazy fun theme park, really really scary rides. You can also go see tapings of shows they tape here, like the Tonight Show, or the other one on channel 2, the late night show. Also Dr. Phil, and Tyra Banks too, I think. There's REALLY an assortment of things to do, mainstream things like these, and also more edgy things, depending on what you like.. Oh, if you do go to Disneyland, try to get to both theme parks, the original and California Adventure. If you can only go to one, see the original Disneyland, it's magical, even if you're not 10. Lol. I really like it still, even in my 20's. Anywho, have fun and stay safe! Don't leave your luggage laying around, bring both a sweater AND a tank top lol, because weather is crazy here, really crazy. Don't leave anything unattended, don't take the bus, you can't flag a taxi down here, you have to call one. Renting a car is fine, but make sure you have a good map, or a GPS system. It'll just about save your life lol. Have fun!

Amusement parks like Six Flags Magic Mountain or Hurricane Harbor in Valencia or Universal Studios in Universal City is fun.
Disneyland is in Anaheim-which is in Orange County-not Los Angeles County. Knott's Berry Farm is in Buena Park, Orange County--not L.A. either....
Hollyweird is cool sometimes...but for relaxation, go to the beach, like Santa Monica or Malibu. Beverly Hills' Rodeo Drive is one of the most expensive shopping districts, Sunset is more affordable however.
For a cultural experience (if you're into it) the Getty Center is great--very beautiful museum.

I'm from Los Angeles and I'm sure I haven't been to all the touristic areas yet, but these are definetly places you must go to.
Hollywood & Highland
Disneyland (for the kid in you, lol)
Universal Studios Hollywood/ Citywalk
Knotts Berry Farm
If you enjoy art:
The Getty Museum
MOCA (Museum of Contemporary Art)
Go to the Griffith Observatory, especially if you'll be around the Hollywood area. BUT you have to make reservations in advance. I think it's about $8 a person. It's been completely reonvated so it's a must see.
Make reservations here: www.griffithobs.org
Enjoy your stay!!!

Six Flags is soooooo much better than Disneyland.
The Sherman Oaks Galleria sucks now. It was a normal mall before the quake. Now it's just like nothing, except the movie theatre and the cheesecake factory, the only good things there.
