You can always hire a wedding coordinator. Or, if finances are a little tight, you can "hire" a friend who is business-minded, has an attention for detail and who is willing to try to get the best price for what you have in mind.

Whether you sit down with a wedding coordinator or a friend who is adept at that kind of thing, you should tell him/her what your "style" is--what is a style that you always feel yourself attracted to? How do you and your spouse envision your wedding? Do you see a "fairytale theme", "Oscar-night," "Garden," "Casual," etc.? It is important to define the style that you both like, because it helps set the mood and express to others the love that you have for one another.

There are always good articles that you can find in several bridal magazines, such as "Bride's," "Modern Bride," etc. There is usually a countdown list that helps you determine when to accomplish certain tasks, such as "when to buy your dress," "when to order the cake," etc. You would also probably benefit greatly from purchasing a wedding planner, found in most local bookstores.

Here is a website that you might find beneficial. I have also listed some other wedding resources at the bottom. Congratulations on your wedding (whether it is soon or in the future)! Be blessed. :)

you and your husband to be will look at the basic and majority of the things....
-wedding colours
-what the meal will be
-suits
-dinner ware
-centre pecices and decor
-invitations

Your bridesmaids and mother will help you with
-sending out the invitations, putting them in envelopes
-party favors for the guest
-picking out the dresses
-flowers
-hair

The wedding party will help you with
-wedding shower
-parties before to help raise the money

Its really a hard choice to just choose certain things, so much looks so good, but it all adds up in the end. I advise you to get magazines and flip through looking for ideas, go to wedding shops with your man as well with parents and the bridesmaids. Just to get the general idea of what you would like, than go from there.

I am helping my friend plan her wedding now.. take a few shopping trips, dont buy anything *Just LOOK* and it will let you see what all kinds of stuff stores have in your area. The more you look at stuff it will become easier to narrow it down. You can get a lot of great ideas and stuff from catalogs. Jean M (jeanm.com) is my favorite. It has awesome items at a good price. Try to start with easier simpler choices, colors.. theme if youll have one.. how big of a wedding.. Get a notebook now and just start jotting stuff down as you think of it. Read and reread it and things will become clearer for you.

If you can afford a wedding planner get one, they really help you cover all details to a wedding that you'll be happy with, if not ask a good friend or relative who has been married and knows what you need to look for.

I use a website and wedding planner books. I got married in 6 months and most books are 12 months however I did finially found one book that was a 6 month planner at Borders.
also asking your married friends help too. I worked at a craft store so I would like at the fake flowers to figure out what stand out that I liked. I went to the book store and sat there looking at the wedding planner books figuring out which one would help me. It took couple of times to figure out which planner helped me.
what colors do you like? what colors does your Fiancée like? what month are you thinking to get marry in?
Example, my hubby like October and we were able to get a hall and a church plus a pastor all the same day. Having an October wedding means fall, well that looks well because I like the color orange. However, all my bridesmaids were blonde and orange plus blonde don't mix well for my bridesmaids, so I had to pick coral for their dresses. It looked good too. I also use sunflowers in the wedding, I thought they are pretty.
You need to pick at date, a pastor, a place to get married and a reception hall and a dress.
The knot website has a planner and can email you to remind you what is due.

Well since it is your wedding, choose what you want to along with your fiance. If you are having trouble picking things, I would rely on your maid or matron of honor and your mom for solid advice. But in the end it is your wedding. Good luck!

usually its like this:
Your parents: pay for the wedding and reception
HIS Parents: pay for the rehearsal dinner and/or honeymoon
Bridesmaids: throw you a shower, help pick out dresses
Fiance: basically helps make decisions and pays for honeymoon
look at bridal mags to get ideas
pick a theme or your colors and it gets easier, a wedding planner helps, i just found one and she is amazing. they know all about this stuff!
