Has this ever happened to you? What do you tell them without hurting their feelings or seeming stuck on yourself?

either way you tell them (nice or mean) it's going to hurt them. if they've told you that they really like you....just make sure you don't flirt with them or lead them on in any kind of way. they'll get the drift and recognize that you're not giving them the response they want.

if they turn stalker on you - tell them to their face you don't want them.

You say, "I'm sorry, but I'm not attracted to you." It's much kinder than trying to spare their feelings. I'm a girl, so I can say this without all of womankind jumping at me. It'll hurt them, yes, but there'll always be another boy. Don't let them think there's any hope, or they'll never be more than 10 ft from your side whenever possible. They'll realize eventually that the attraction has to be mutual (I realized that when I had to do the same thing to a guy for the 1st time) for any relationship to exist outside friendship.

Just be as nice a you possibly can and just tell them that you are flattered and that you were not expecting this, but you're just not looking for anything right now. Tell them that there are other areas of your life that need attention right now and you have to focus on them and having a girlfriend or boyfriend (which ever) will distract you.

i did have that happen to me a few times. At least the first time a guy told me he was just saved so i told him that i didn't want to distract him from God so he agreed. and another time was just weird considering i'm a girl and a girl told me that she would have asked me out if she didn't know i'm a christian. however the most recent time i had someone i didn't like come tell me he wanted to date me, i told him that i didn't want to be in a relationship cause i didn't know what God wanted for me yet in that sort of aspect and i had already been in a relationship prior that i really didn't feel like abandoning those memories.

It's been a long time since anyone had a crush on me (which is what you're describing).

If you don't see it going anywhere, tell them that you would like to be their friend and see what they say. No need to lead them on or reject them completely. They may admire you for some reason but it's no more than that. Let them tell you why and don't fish for it.

Be honest! Tell the person how you feel about them. Please don't listen to all the people that answer and say to tell them this or that and whatever else that isn't true.

I think that most people appreciate honesty much better then some BS that they are able to realize is crap right away.

Good Luck

It has happened to me. Just say, "Thank you, but I don't feel ready for that right now." A little white lie works all the time, and making up a comforting reason but convincing them it is ok works as well.

Just say oh that's great. Don't say that you don't feel the same way, if they totaly love you that'll crush them!
Just try to be friends and ignore the comment. But it's great to know you're admired.

This is a great question.
Its all about tact.
saying something in a tactful manner.
For some reason its a lost art.
You smile, and in the most sincere way you simply say"I'm very flattered, and I'm very sorry, but I just don't feel the same way."
Thats all.
