Many people keep olive oil in the refigerator thinking that it will extend its shelf life or in order to avoid it to get rancid....this is ONE OF THE WORSE PLACES to keep it !!
Most of the time you can find bottles without harvest and expiration date...that should be the first thing to care of buying your bottle of olive oil at the grocery store rather than thinking how to preserve it later!! How can we think about extending its shelf life if we don't even know when it was produced?!?
Bottles of olive oil should not be refrigerated because condensation can occur on the lid and drip water back into the oil, which could spoil the oil’s flavor and cause rancidity.
The secret then is to keep it just at room temperature and away from the direct light and use it and be sure to buy a bottle where I can read the date of production or at least the expiration date.
Once the bottle is open it will last two-three months with no problem if it is a good product.

Good olive oil will live just fine at room temperature, I find putting it in the fridge a waste of space.

It might be. If it is a good extra virgin olive oil in a green bottle, it might be usable. Don't expect the flavor to be anything special, and despite being sealed, it may have gone rancid. Good oils aren't heated or pasteurized, it kills the flavors. Open it, sniff it, if it's cloudy or smells wonky, pitch it instantly. Best wishes!

Yes, doing what you are doing is okay.
However you can keep olive oil in a dark cool cabinet or pantry & it will not go rancid, some oils are that sensitive -- olive oil is not one of them. No need to store it in he fridge & have to deal with it solidifying, but storing it either way is perfectly healthy, so do what you like.

It sounds like a pain to go through all that. I think the oil will be fine forever at room temperature. And if you use so little that it gets rancid, you might as well just buy new!

i keep my olive oil in the fridge too, it'll be ok. You can take it out and put it back until its gone, no harm done. I run mine under warm water until i get the amount i want to use.

You can stor it for YEARS at room temperature...it is not supposed to go in the fridge.
I suggest going out and buying it new..and storing it in the pantry.
There is no expiration date...and it does not say to reirdgerate after opening!
