I i like this girl and i was able to get an assigned seat next to her
but we do not know each other
and we are both shy
and althoug i look calm, whenever i talk to her, i get nervous,

i know i have to talk to her regularly for her to day yes a dance in one month
that is what i want to do

but how much conversation is enough and how much is too much
and what do i talk to her about?

i want her to know me well enough in a month and become her freind so that asking her does not seem out of the blue.

but i do not want it to seem obvious that i like her till closer to the dance
and i dont want to seem like an idiot

ok, here's a few tips...don't be obsessive and talk to her too much. that would scare her off. and make it seem like u don't like her at first, and if it seems as if she might then go for flirting back. girls ussually develope feelings faster, so that'll help. and if she's friendly when u talk to her then continue. but not too much. and don't be nervous. be confident and let ur personality show. trust me girls LOVE that!!! and if she don't like ur personality, then too bad. u can't pretend to be someone ur not. and if that's wat u were planning on, trust me it don't work. the real u will show sooner or later, so how about now. just talk to her like ur talking to a good friend, but at the same time don't be too outgoing. ****hope i helped**** (:

First Steps:
1. Eye Contact

Eye Contact is usually the most common, when you are crushing on someone, Yet, it's hard to concentrate wether they like you or not because they could be just looking at you because it's a habit to look at everyone else, and the other if they are looking at you when they like you. You can look at her but not TOO much, BECAUSE she might try to avoid and in this case I've been in the situation, and it really lowers your self-esteem. *REMEMBER THAT*

Second Step:
2. Knowing the Person

When knowing the person, you must concentrate on what to say. Be yourself, don't try to be someone else, because when they find out your a totally diffrent person, they'll look at you in an odd expression. Now, always think the Positive side, because when your nervous you usually mess up. But you know what it's sometimes good to mess up at times too, because thats where she'll think your a funny person, and nice. For example: You: "What do we have for science?" Girl: "Science..???" You: "Oh Sorry, I mean for [whatever class you have with her]!" *You both start laughing* A Conversation is NEVER too much. Girls love to talk, but when they want to be alone at times, let her go, don't be mad, she needs time for herself you know. Think about it. :) Once you keep asking her questions you'll instantly become friends. To know when the time is right, ask her a week before the dance. Hope that helped. By the way i'm only 13. :P

well if you guys don't know each other well, maybe like a hey wassup? How's it going? or maybe ask her for help on an assignment, or ask to pair up with her. Make small talk like, what did you do this weekend? What's your favorite show, color, food, movie? stuff like that, just relax a little. Good luck!

o wow, well like i always say, conversation is KEY! start talking about music, and stuff like that. or if the teacher says something, lean to her and make a little joke, i LOVE when guys do that... and make sure to pay attention to her! notice little things she does, but don't look like a stalker... just be cool... and everything will fall into place

Start a talk, like hey. How are you?? I really like your shoes, or jeans, or shirt... then start to ask her like, I was wondering what was your favourite food. Then when she answers, say oh, mine is blah. And keep on like that, so she knows you very well.

hehehe you can start with saying hi and introduce yourself, its never wrong to do that. Then start with a simple conversation about situation, then you can buy her a cup of tea or coffee, and follow your instinct

You already answer the question, act as normal, tread her as a normal friend and the important is you must sincere.
