I'm considering extensions while it grows, but am scared of breakage. I would only leave them on 3 to 4 months and get them taken off by the hairdresser. Which kind would be least damaging? Also, my hair is in such bad shape and fine and thin too that I cry all the time because it didn't used to be this way, and I have a cruise to go on in 3 months, and now I just don't want to go. I'm depressed. Please, no answers about not using the hairdryer. I wait until it's about 75% or more dry to dry it, but if I didn't, I couldn't leave the house. Also, I have to wash daily as it's FINE and THIN. My mom has to also, we always have and it never damaged our hair. The chemicals (highlights, straighteners, etc.) ruined my hair. Until it grows out, remember in your answers, that I am depressed and I have to be able to fix it and live with looking at it until then. Thanks.

hahahaha. wow the same thing happened to me last month! i bleached my hair once again, and it broke out AGAIN. then i cut it very short to my shoulders and it was past my chest before. so i was veryy sad, and now i'm thinking about getting hair extensions too. people say GLUE is the worse for your hair.. and probably sewing it in is the best is what i heard. i hope everything works out for you cause i feel your pain! lol

Hi there, i feel for u. I have been getting my really tight curly hair chemically straight for the past 3 years now.. it was real good at the start but when my roots start to grow then the probs start because it was so tight curls..So every 4 months i had to have the roots done which in turn cost £140 to do..So it has now been 7 months and i havnt got the roots done.. i use my ghd's to straighten it, but most of durning the week i do it roughly and i wear a baseball cap in my job as a postie so its a life saver!! then at the weekend i wud take more time to get it straighter. As a result of all my straighting bits of breakage have happened. i changed hairdresser and she is help and encourage me to grow my nice curls back again, and i still have the option to have it straight say 1 time a week with ghd's..i wud advice not to do any more to ur hair and use a real good moisture treatment conditioner, i use AG hair products , excellent, get the moisture treatment, u can get it online.. when i was in New York i went to a salon and thats where i come to hear of it... good luck .. and remember natural is always best.. i am now thinking that way also..x

I screwed up my hair the same way a few years ago and had to get it cut really short. What was left was in really bad shape and felt like candy floss! The best thing I found for it was made by a company called Aussie. It's in the supermarket for about £3-4 and they do a range of things. Use their shampoos and conditioners (the peach one is really nice) and the 3 minute miracle mask once a week. That'll sort it out in no time. In the mean time enjoy not having to spend as much time doing your hair. It'll soon grow back and there are lots of nice styles to try out while it's shorter. Hopes this helps you xx

I am not sure exactly what to advise, but may consider a cute shorter cut that you can make look girly by spiking it or using cute barrets to sweep aside the bangs?
I understand why you are depressed, but maybe it would help you to talk to a beautician and have her help you come up with a hair strategy that you can start working on. ....Like if it needs to heal a while or grow out a bit first. Then, that way you will have a plan in mind for your hair and even though it doesn't look that great now, you'll have something good to look forward to, and have a goal in mind.
Good luck! And try not to let your hair bring you down.

Yup, me! Mine was damaged by straightening it... it was all falling off, and they've became so thin! So i used tons of moisturisers, conditioners, and tries not to wash it or brush it for as long as i can. It helps... Now after a few months, my hair doesn't fall anymore, and i think it'll take along time before it grows back to the way it is, but the results are evident. Do not try to hurry it or whatsoever. You can only wait for it to grow back ur original hair and cut off the parts that are damaged, as it will not "repair". It'll just "replace".

I have been in your shoe and I know it sucks so bad. Back in May I put a chemical straightener over my bleached hair and totally overprocessed it. So much of my hair broke...or literally whilted off. I have to cut off over 8 inches.....for several months i did daily deep conditioning treatments. Redken Extreme Force and Redken All Soft treatments are the best. If your hair is as bad as you say leave the treatment in all night....put a towel on your pillow, and then wash it out in the morning. Only shampoo your hair every other or every two days...too much shampooing will make it worse.
Continue to get month treatments to cut off the damage. After over six months it is finally back to normal. My hair was so bad in the beginning and I almost shaved it all off and wore a wig. But the last six months have flown by....I did daily treatments, used little heat, and put it up in a loose messy bun every day.
The conditioning treatments and the hair trims are essential to getting your hair back to normal. Also, redken anti-snap is an awesome leave in treatment for damaged hair that is breaking.

I don't know allot about hair stuff... but I tell my friends who get down about things that will go away with time to just ignore it and go on with life. The way I see it, if you tell yourself there is a problem there is, if you tell yourself there isn't than nothing can bother you. Just try to forget there is anything wrong with it, and act like you did before the damage happened... might not be quite what you were looking for but... I hope it helps.

I had hair extensions in the 90's. They looked great; however, the way they were attached was not so great for my real hair and when I finally had them removed I had lost a lot of my own hair. I do not recommend the extensions that are "glued" in with a sort of waxy substance. They apply extra weight to your hair and tend to make it break off. Taking them out really made my hair break off as they had to apply heat and oil to remove them.
I have also worn the temporary hair extensions just to add volume to my own hair. They clip in under your real hair and add a lot of body. You might try these types. At least you can remove them at night!

I think you should let your hair be for a while...and, let it grow on its own...can you possibly get a wig...and, wear it daily, and, then, and night wear scarves or a hat...or when you are alone wear nothing...
good luck...
honey dont be depressed...things always can be worse...we have soilders in the middleast being killed.....the least of our problems are our looks...I know its difficult...but, please please try to change your thinking...
