You need to give her some time to think the situation over. You've put a bad snag in your relationship. I wonder if she'll ever believe you if you do fall in love with her.

Well, now you are insincere and uncertain as to how to proceed.
1. Do NOT try to "fix it up". Like trying to put a broken egg back together it would be.
2. Neither one of you is being outright honest with the other person. It's not possible to "guess" your way through a relationship. The truth WILL surface, so why not start out with it.
3. "I only said it because I thought she wanted to hear it".
You truly have NO understanding of the gap between what you said and what she heard. It's Grand Canyon in magnitude.

O my gosh, the same thing happened to me, I told a guy I loved him, and he said it back, but then i realized i really like him i don't love him. So when he told me i love you, i told him i had to be honest and i couldn't lie to him, and he said he understood because he cares so much about me and he would never want to rush things, and we're still together and going strong. Tell your girl friend that you really care about her and you really like her, but you weren't sure if "love" was the correct word to use. Add that she does mean A LOT to you, and hopefully one day you will love eachother, and if she's still mad then she isn't the one to be with. Every couple gets into one fight, i consider that the ultimate test, if you can work out problems together, without ending things, then you know you can survive.
i hope i was able to be somewhat of a help! i hope you and your girl fried can get passed this little bump in the road!

You shouldnt have said it if you didnt mean it. You messed up bud. You never say anything unless you mean it. You have some major kissing up to do.....lol
Why did you tell her you lied? Did you tell her that because she freaked out? If so, another mistake. Stick to what you feel from here on out. If you feel it, say it. No matter the outcome. You may not get another chance. However, from here on out, dont say anything unless its the truth. Good Luck

she doesn't know how to deal with it - maybe she thinks it means you want to get into a relationship that is too close for her (i.e. past kissing). otherwise, she is a little neurotic (absolutely no offense intended to her). she might have reasons why she thinks you are lying to her - can you think of any she might have? talk to her about it. tell her how you feel, and that you really DID mean it (if you really did!). i'm sure things will work out - otherwise, find a girlfriend with a slightly more amiable personality.

NUMBER ONE YOU NEVER LIE TO YOUR GIRL FRIEND! Now you have to make this up to her if, you can, and you never tell her you love her if you don't. Now lets see what we can do to make things better with her, now you Will have to set down and have a long talk with her, and try to explain why you said the love word, and why you thought she wonted to hear it? How long have you been together and where do you see it going!!

don't let it get to you. my guess is that while she may have freaked and accused you, etc., if you let it go, and make sure nothing really changes, she'll be ok. whether or not she is ready to say it i think that the fact that you did will make her feel loved. and when the relationship develops, she'll fell comfortable.
and for the future: don't EVER say it if you don't mean it. don't wait for the other person or rush for them, but when you mean it, on whatever level, then say it.
<3 is confusing.....

How'd u lie?!
"I love you" is SO darn confusing because so many people take it differently. Some take it sooo seriously, while other view it as a casual thing to let people know they are special 2 u.
I wouldn't worry about it. Just tell her that u are willing to wait to say it, until she is ready.
Best Wishes!!! :-)

You should never tell someone something because it's what they want to hear. You should always tell the truth.
You can do nothing about it. Time is the only thing that will let this one go away.
