(5:00 outdoor ceremony with reception to follow at the same facility) IF it were me, I would like to do it all in one area so no one will have to travel that much in between.

Hmm picking a date was hard for me as well, I chose my date because that is when the stars and moon align. Thought it was be perfect for us.
Anyhow, if you choose September 1st, you may have a 3 day weekend and many out of town guests will possibly be there, if you choose October 27th, guests have only the weekend. But... it's not to please the guests it's what works best for you.
Difference in weather is something to take into consideration. I don't think people will complain about a 1/2 hour drive. They will be happy for you no matter what.
Good Luck and Congrats!!

It really depends on what you & your fiance want, and where you live. If you live someplace like Ohio, then by the end of October the air is quite brisk, so you really wouldn't want an outdoor ceremony. Wouldn't make any difference where the reception was.
I always vote for the wedding & repection together. Less travel, confusion, etc. And after the ceremony, who wants to wait to celebrate?

I like the 5:00 one september 1st, its later at night and just sets the mood i think. Its romantic at night. Its nice to have it all at the same facility as well. Its alot warmer as well in september and the 1st just sounds great, its the start of the month and its the start of your life together as one. Also a big bonus....its a lot easier to remeber the first for up coming anniversarys, he wont have a excuss to foget it..nor will you...

I'd personally go with the September one. The ceremony and reception are in the same place, which means noone will get lost going to the reception.

The Sept 1st date , because noone will be able to leave pretending to go to the reception 1/2 an hour away and skate out. This way they will already be at the reception and will have no reason to leave accept to go home. Good luck. with the whole thing! Glad that is all over for me.

it is completely up to the two of you. I was going to get married on sept 12th but decided on august 4th due to family from the Netherlands not being to attend, i would go with october myself i think ( septemer would be a chilly month for outside wedding, and if there is going to be drinking at the reception it would be nice to have it close by)
plus you have almost 2 extra months to plan...if you are having the same amount of luck as me, you are going to need it...

Are many of your guests going to be coming in from out of town? If so, September first might not be the best choice...it's Labor Day Weekend, there will probably be lots of traffic, and those folks who are flying in will have to pay a ton more for their tickets.

September.... and the plans of being at the same facility SO MUCH easier. I can hear it now... 3 car pile up on hwy 7 has caused a massive traffic build up..LOL Why risk it?
