I know this may get me a violation, but when did America become just the USA? I hear people saying "America, Love it or Leave it." and that Mexicans aren't Americans. When did Mexico break off from the Americas? I learned geography, and there are 7 continents, not 8, so when will people from the United States of America teach their children Geography instead of bigotry?

Also, why is it that when people mention Illegals, they automatically think of people from the Americas when they can bee from Asia, Europe, Australia, or Africa?

There are borders for each country. On every continent people cannot just go and live wherever they want without going through the proper laws. That's the problem. There are legal ways to become a citizen. Some, from all continents, choose not to follow these laws.
I also don't believe it is fair to call someone a bigot for wanting to stop ILLEGAL immigration. This is a country built by immigrants, but immigrants who
A) Came here legally
B) Came here to become Americans (i.e. learn the English language

I know much of the harsh feelings comes from people like myself, whose Italian, Polish, and Irish relatives all came here and demanded that their children fit in with American culture and learn the English language (not only directed at Mexicans, by the way). I'm not sure that's too much to ask when many come here and receive so much from the land of the free.

Because the colloquial use of "America" refers to the United States of America (USA), even though "America" is actually two separate continents (and a sub-continent) comprised of over 50 different countries (I can name them all if you want, but there's really no point). If people are headed to other countries in the Americas, they will use the specific country name (i.e. I'm going to Canada... I'm going to Panama... I'm going to Brazil). If they're headed to the US, they will likely say "I'm going to America" rather than "I'm going to the United States". It's just the way it is.

Also, illegals, while they can be from anywhere (and there are certainly plenty from Asia, Europe and Africa), tend to mostly come from points south of the US. Something like 70% of illegal residents in the US are Mexican citizens. So while it's wrong to assume anything, the percentages bear out that if a person is here illegally, 7 times out of 10 the person is from Mexico.

One problem is that some people from the other American countries assume they should be given citizenship here because we have the word America in the name of our country. They laugh and smile and say we are Americans too so you can't make us leave! Some logic! Tell me this, why is it okay to refer to this country (USA) as America as long as you are not a citizen?

As for your last question, when you hear hoof beats do you think zebras or horses? Which is it seriously more likely to be? Not that I approve of illegals from any country.

Do you want to hear another geography poser ? When I was in the seventh grade, forty seven years ago, the earth was 2.5 billion years old. Now, just 47 years later, it is four billion years old. My, how time flies when you listen to the "experts". I wonder how old it will be in another 47 years?

I have no answer - but I will tell you this, the town next to me
is now 18% Muslim. We now have factories that are employed
by 99% Muslim & apartment complexes that are occupied by
99% Muslim.
I can't believe all of these people are legal, yet you never
heard a word about it - I don't get it.

When you are referring to people you generally refer to their country of origin. Citizens of the USA have often been referred to as Americans.. When you call someone an American everyone knows who you are referring to.

Dredging up a constipated argument over it serves no purpose.

You said it yourself. Mexico is in 'the Americas'. NOT in America. The United States of America iis America the way the United States of Mexico is Mexico.

Note that the "united states of' whatever is only a modifier.
