well demun is the only one that sounds like he has even fished for bass before not only the conditions he mentioned but what part of the states your in what i use here in ohio will not work in florida rember to match the size of your bait to the size of fish you are trying to catch if they are on the spawn beds you need patience and alot of them but use a lizard lizards eat the eggs so they will not let it stay in the bed spring and early summer spinner baits mid summer crankbitas and worms fall back to spinners early late fall when it is cold jigs fished very slow if its dark overcast or the water is muddy go dark they can see the dark bait better and the best advice ask other anglers what they are hitting on and make some freinds on the lake and watch and learn wishing you tight lines and screaming drags

What kinda' bass? fresh water? salt water? Fishing is a blast. sometimes you don't catch a darn thing! that's why they call it fishing. But enough about that. Fish respond to different types of bait at different times. They might be set into a feeding frenze at a particular color bait. Sometimes its a scent they pick up in the water. No one knows for sure. That's why it's always good to visit the local tackle shop and load up on various sizes, colors, shaped baits. The shop hands usually know what the action is like out there. Everyone likes to talk about what they caught and where, and believe you me, word travels quick. Walmart by far carries the most inexpensive stuff. I have four tackle boxes loaded year round with rapalas, crank baits, plastics, scampies you name it. So I'm never caught with out different means to atract the fish.
Enjoy the sport. It's something you'll do the rest of your life.

Live bait. try crayfish. I am not a lure fisherman but I have caught the biggest bass of my life (22 inches, 6 pounds) using a Banjo Minnow. Another lure is the Moss Mouse. The grey one. White is ineffective. These have worked for me.
One thing to remember with bass, the uglier your bait, the better they like it.

Depends on weather conditions, the temperature of the water, how clear or murky the water is...a lot of different factors. They hit different baits because in early spring there are other fish eggs hatching which makes for easy food along the banks, use buzzbaits at night about topwater jigs over and over, sometimes it will aggravate them into striking it cause they are aggresive and territorial fish

Use a carolina rig or texas rig with a rubber malicious software, crayfish, or lizzard. or you may seize bigger bass with a Rapala broken minnow. there is all varieties of lures to apply in a small pond. Even spinner baits are sometimes useful and you will conceal particularly some water in a short quantity of time. merely attempt particularly some lures till you detect what they like. have relaxing! for my section there is not something greater relaxing than landing vast bass in a small pond!

Hands down
One of the easiest, most consistent thing you can use is soft plastics, whether fish with a Texas rig, Carolina,Wacky, drop shotting, you will get the most consistent results. It's 90% of what I use. It can be fished deep, shallow, slow, fast, etc. Start there and stay with it, and you'll see results.

I know its illegal but a snorkel, a mask and a frog gigging stick will land the biggest bass ever.

My Grandpa would use little balls of cheese!! I don't remember what kind of cheese... It seemed to form well, so I'm guessing like a Velveeta or some cheesy-cheese like that!!
