What can I do to politely let a co-worker know that he smells really awful. Everyday, no shower, B.O. It's horrible. What nasty body smells.

Buy them soap-on-a-rope for birthday, Christmas, Valentine's Day(heart shaped soap), etc.

Make a gift basket with soap, deodorant, body spray, good smelling lotions, toothpaste, shower gels, etc. Bring it to work and tell them that you won it at a raffle, and that you already have enough of that stuff at home, offer it to your co-worker, if they don't take it act like your really hurt that they didn't If that doesn't work have it delivered to them at their desk with a note from a secret admirer.

Well, just pass by them and say "Hey, wanna try my new spray, it smells really good..here" and spray 'em-lol. Or a better idea get a group of co-workers together with you on this kind of like an intervention, and just tell him you want to discuss something important....but it's not to offend him; but it's because you care about him, and how the company maintains it's professionalism...and then tell him about how every time he is around, somehow there's a smell that arises, and you don;t want to point fingers, but you all have concluded that it's him. Tell him you don't want to piss him off, but you are just being a good co-worker, helping him change a bad habit, so things won't escalate etc.

You should probably mention it to the supervisor and let the supervisor handle it. It is the boss' concern because it's affecting your work performance and possibly also the clients.

Consider that a lack of personal hygiene often goes along with poor mental health. Your coworker may be suffering from depression or another psychological disorder. Perhaps he/she needs more help than just a shower.

There is no way to do this without potentially causing tension. Maybe you should ask your supervisor to intervene. Most companies have a policy regarding cleanliness. Let the boss be the bad guy.

Turn this smelly situation over to your supervisor.. that's why they pay them the big bucks..
Of course if it was me, I'd already be gagging.. I'm sure the person would ask why, and, yep I would tell them.

When your co-worker is away from his desk, sneak onto his computer and reset his homepage to this:

You and the rest of your coworkers should pour the cold water cooler over their head and hand them some soap and shampoo!
