how do i talk with a girl that i like...i am nervous...i want to ask her to the dance?

I i like htis girl and i was able to get an assigned seat next to her
but we do not know each other
and we are both shy
and althoug i look calm, whenever i talk to her, i get nervous,

i know i have to talk to her regularly for her to day yes to the dance in one month

but how much conversation is enough and how much is too much
and what do i talk to her about?

i want her to know me well enough in a month and become her freind so that asking her does not seem out of the blue.

but i do not want it to seem obvious that i like her till closer to the dance
and i dont want to seem like an idiot

talk to her in casual conversation then bring it up that you would like to dance with her. it will be really hard but i am sure you can do it
