old as the Jewish religion is? Are they trying to discredit those older than themselves to make themselves feel better about thier wrong choice in life?

It's simple. Christians believe God created the world and the first people, Adam and Eve. Adam and Eve worshiped God and looked forward to the coming of a Savior (Christ). So, in general tems, they were Christians.

Now, if you apply to the belief that only churches that were at the First Council of Nicaea in 325 AD are Christian, you can't call Adam and Eve Christian, and can only say Christianity is about 2000 years old.

But if you apply to the belief that anyone that believes in Christ is Christian, then you can call Adam and Eve Christian and say Christianity has been around from the beginning of the world.

Dear friend, just the opposite is true. I have never met a single Christian, (and I know thousands) that would ever imply that Christianity is older than paganism.

Also they do not imply that the earth is as old as the Jewish religion is. The Jewish religion begins with Moses who established the Law. Every Christian believes in Abraham, Noah, and Adam and all those people who existed before Moses. They also know that the Egyptian culture exisited before the Jews.

I don't believe that Christians are trying to discredit anyone.

May God bless you and bring you to a saving knowledge of the truth.

Here is your religious time line according to Christianity.
1. From Adam to Moses there was no written "religious" law. People would sacrifice animals and other things to God(s) but they did not know Him. Sin was brought on them because of Adams original sin. Paganism was the norm during this time.
2. Moses gave the 10 commandments to the Israelites along with the Levitical laws. They now understood what "sin" was.
3. Jesus (God) came to live under the Law because we were incapable of doing it, though some try. When Jesus died on the cross, His sinless blood fulfilled the laws requirement for a perfect sacrifice for sin. This is the beginning of the New Covenant that we call Christianity.

Because they tend to believe that older is better when it comes to religions. They are fond of claiming that everyone, even cavemen, believed in their Middle Eastern God. If they were to admit that there are older religions that didn't worship their choice of deity, then their belief that "older is better" would come crashing down on them because by their logic then animism and ancient religions would be "The Truth".

As far as claiming the Earth is young (6,000 years), also steams from the same line of thought. They can't have an older Earth because then that would lend credence to science and to other older religions.

I am a Christian and I know that paganism predates that and the world is older than the Jewish religion. I don't need to make myself feel better when I have made and been blessed to travel down the path of the correct choice. Should you choose to make the wrong choices that is your prerogative; don't be so ashamed of yourself that you have to bash an entire group of people with lies.

To make themselves feel better about how stupid some of them are. I find that too many are closed minded and if it is not in the bible or the priest did not say so, it must be wrong and a sin. They say they have one god, then why all the saints and angels and such things.

How do you define paganism?

It appears that believe in the one true God has been exsistant since the beggining of time.

Even "cavemen" believed in a Creator.

We believe that Adam and Eve were taught the Gospel, and that they were the first people around. That's why they say it came first.
