Not the religion itself, more like the people who claim to devoutly follow it.

Absolutely. And that includes the one I was raised with (Catholicism) and the first couple I tried after.
Can't say that Buddhism's ever let me down. Nor Judaism, although some communities have been too great a compromise on certain things (like the role of women) for me. I accept that it's what they need to do, at least for now.

All religions will do that if you rely on religion as the answer to life.
Religion is a wonderfull thing but you are the one who gives life its meaning. Live the life you love, love the life you live.

I have from time to time felt let down by God. It is a painful place to find yourself and I wish I could guarantee myself that it would never happen again. I think it usually comes from either expecting what you have no good right to expect or just completely misunderstanding the situation. I think it may all come down to unrealized expectations.

First of all, I hate the word religion. I don't have religion. I have a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. He would never let me down. Never leave me, never forsake me. The Bible says so. I have lived by the Bible all my life. Not God, nor his Son, have either ever let me down.

When I was a Christian, yes. Jesus let me down many times.
Now that I am an Ãsatrúar, no. Never been let down by the Norse Gods.

No infact mine does just the opposite it actually picks me up off of the ground and tells me i am worthy. I am a Christian

No, I'm a Buddhist. The only way my religion could fail me was if I failed myself.
