I like this girl and she obviously likes me. I only know 1 good pick-up line to get her number, and it works because she is smart. The problem is, I can't find a way to approach her because she is the quiet type and when I talk to her she doesn't really say anything except yes or no. How can I start a long conversation without her one word answers?

Sorry, dude. If she's only giving you one word answers, she's either incredibly shy or simply not interested...
If you still want to try to win her heart, you must ask "open-ended" questions that can't be answered with yes or no. Compliment her on something, ANYTHING, and try to engage her in a conversation about something you know she has an interest in.

when a girl likes a guy, she usually acts a little shy around them because they dont want to look stupid in front of them. Just ask her for her number. Its not that complicated. If she says no, then she says no. At least you will know how she feels so can move on

Ask her questions that she can't answer with yes or no. Like "What kinda things do you have planned for this weekend?" Or you could try "What did you think about the latest episode of...?"(whatever happens to be the best show for you and your friends)

Ask questions that can't be answered in one or two words, make her laugh, talk about things that interest her (find out somehow!). There is a talkative person in there somewhere, you just have to find out what excites her!

that one is easy ask her questions that she cant say yes or no to ask her detailed questions that way it will open her up and you will be able to talk longer and ask her out

dont ask her one word questions ask her questions that she has to say more. figures out things she likes. then ask her questions about it. its not really hard.

perhaps you should focus on her.ask questions about her,open-ended question,such as "what do you think of the movie...?", "how do you feel about..."
