Go to the movies and hold hands during the movie. That is definately appropriate at 14. Definately hug when you leave each other at the end of the date or day at school.

As a teacher - this is the time I can really "sound off". There are SOOOOOOOOOOOOO many books in your school's library about 'young love' that it's a shame you have to ask this question. Also, you are probably too young to be IN THIS FORUM ANYWAY and further, if you had a solid relationship with your parents, they would be the ones schooling you. My suggestion? Do what your heart tells you. If you are a conversationalist, and have lots of information about many different topics- you should be able to entertain any girl. Girls like to talk - men -usually don't. Step up and read the paper, magazies, all the busy highlights of music and acting; school subjects, news, weather - everything. A bucket full of topics will go a long way with a girl. Establish her likes and dislikes on the phone. I used to keep myself a little diary of the boys I talked to. I would maintain their birthdays, favorites...)color, food, sports....you get the idea) and be prepared to send your little cards to get attention. When you finally go on the date - the groundwork has already been laid. And whatever you do - wash up good and put on some cologne - lightly! A woman cannot resist a man who smells good and is groomed (nails clean, clothes clean, washed hair) . When you go on this date - be prepared - find out before hand what is her favorite CD and whether she has it or not - buy it - wrap it in brown paper (like a paper bag) and put (her) favorite color ribbon around it with only her name on the gift. Give it to her when you are walking in the movie theater. Open the doors for her, allow her to make choices - smile a lot, Touch her hair, touch her shoulder. Let her know at the end of the evening that you had the best time ever! Then send her a "card" thanking her for the time. Cut out a cartoon or some other comic that reminds you of her., I swear - you'll have her eating from your hand. (I don't mean pretend - but you know,.......show interest.) if you want to kiss - make sure you ASK. Or , just kiss her lightly on the cheek and give her a handsome, whole hug (strong and purposeful)

No one is supposed to make the first move on a first date when you're 14. I don't even think 14 is old enough to date. I mean, it's obvious by the fact that you're confused about these things, that you are still in the "going out in a group" phase. Just build good friendships at this point in your life, would be my advice. Learn how to socialize and have fun with your friends and everything else will just kind of take care of itself. I've always thought it best when people start out as friends and then date 'cause they are so comfortable around each other they don't feel awkward at all when it's time for that first kiss.

A lot of young relationships are like that. How about double-dating. There will be no akward moments. And he'll become more comfortable around you. And the guy is always shy about making the first move, you initiate contact.

theres a chance u could be going out with a prude. (someone whos affraid to kiss or do anything like that) usually on the first date you get to know each other better, with flirting here and there. He might be shy. Just be charming and he might get more comfortable. If not, you may be going out with a prude

Here's what you do first if the guy ever tells a joke laugh even if its stupid, guys love it when girls laugh at there jokes. Then start a conversation but don't seem desperate. After that you have to become better and better friends with them until he asks you to go to a movie. Go to a scary one, then when your scared grab and hold his arm but not to tightly. He will take it from there.

The guy needs to intiate the contact. If he does intiate then you follow through(not with anything you're not comfortable, of course).
If he's too scared to do anything, then I suggest you either make the first move or you get out of that relationship.

Probably best just to talk and hold hands. Careful kisses could lead to other things.

Just do whatever comes naturally, being as you are 14, i would stick to hand holding. wait until you are about 16 or 18 for anything serious, relationships only complicate things.
you probably shouldn't even be dating right now in the first place! where's your mom and/or dad?

Don't just jump into a relationship. Become friends first and wait until you both wanna bite each others lips off.
