News always talks about global warming and global cooling but is it real? Or is it just regular climate changes that have been happening for thousands of years?

It is both normal climate changes and man made pollution. It is just really hard to tell which is which.

All we know FOR SURE, is that carbon dioxide levels are far above the highest natural highs in the last 400,000 years, and still climbing. At some point that has to have a measurable effect, but I question that what we are seeing now is caused by that and not by natural changes.

But as I say, if CO2 keeps increasing, and it will as long as we keep burning coal, oil and natural gas, then at some point the effect will become obvious. It is just a question of when. What would be an obvious effect? A one foot sea level rise would qualify in my mind. That has not happened yet and I doubt it will within 10 or 20 years. Maybe over a longer time it will.

There is certainly a cyclic pattern to natural weather, but people today are producing the same greenhouse gases as "too many" volcanoes. Even if a person refuses to admit that man is the major problem, that person need to understand what global warming can do to us all, and at least have an open mind about the causes and the fixes...it's not a political issue, but it has become one.

well you have to start beleiving. the glaciers in the northpole were like mountains before but in the past few years those mountainlike sizes reduced to floating boulders now. if you are too young to understand this, read more books about climate changes. media will not spend time and money to broadcast these things for nothing. some part of our money are spent for these matter. you better beleive that global warming is on and getting worse....

i believe global warming is real because of the increase in co2 in the air. I also think its real do to the great increase of yearly temperatures.Just watch Al Gore's new movie and you'll know what I'm talking about.

Either way it's global warming. what I think the debate is about is whether it is being caused by human-kinds use of fossil fuels which cause greenhouse gas. I personally think it's combo plate, normal changes acerbated by greenhouse gas and other man-made poisons It worries me when you see a Hugh ice shelf falling into the sea.

The debate is over. It's time to give it up. Bush and the oil companies have come around to agreeing that it's time to start reducing CO2 emissions. (http://wcco.com/local/local_story_024232003.html , http://www.allamericanpatriots.com/m-news+article+storyid-18097.html )

All that's left now is whether we have the political will to do what needs to be done and whether a democratic congress will allow Bush to get the credit for making sweeping reforms.
