Wash your face often with cold water (5-6 times a day). Don't put a lot of gunk on your face (makeup, greasy moisturizers). Don't eat a lot of sweets! - Very important about that last one.

Try different cleansers and moisturizers, sometimes certain ones can make you break out. If you use hairspray don't let it get on your face. When you wash your hair make sure your face is rinsed well too, because sometimes it can get on your face near your hair-line and you might not realize it so it stays there and can irritate your skin. If you use foundation, give your skin a break every couple of days and don't use it at all. I've never had a bad case of acne, but I have had pimples here & there - and when I do I don't use any type of cream make-up until the pimple clears up. When I use foundation, it's only once in a while - not every day, sometimes not even for a week or more (cuz' thats usually when I start to get a pimple, when I use foundation too often).
I do use other make-up, just not the kind that goes over your entire face.

click around and read this website

main tips:
1. Don't use anything stronger that 2.5% benzoyl peroxide
2. DO NOT skip a day using the regimen
3. Do the regimen morning and night
4. Answer the questionnaire on the website to find out what you're doing wrong.

This regimen is the ONLY thing that has kept my skin smooth and clear and believe me I have tried almost everything. I've used prescription medicines such as Retin-A (which works for a while but if you stop using this your acne comes back with a vengeance), Tri-Luma ($90 for a tiny tube), Differin (similar to Retin-A), Clindamycin (can't go into the sun AT ALL and makes your skin look oily), tetracyline pills (made me puke if I drank anything citrusy)...I could go on.

This regimen works. I get compliments all the time on how great my skin looks. Even my mother couldn't believe how smooth it was.

well, you're probably still in your teens and your hormones are all crazy, which makes you more susceptable to acne. the best advice i can give you is to wash your face every night before bed and every morning when you get up. facial scrubs work really well for me (but then again, i am 25). if your acne is really bad you may want to see a dermatologist, but don't pop the zits!! also, don't use alcohol based cleansers on your face too often or they will dry out your skin. if you put moisturizer on your face, make sure it says noncomedogenic so it won't clog your pores.

It is mosly due to genetics. But if you go to a good dermatologist, I am sure they can give you something to help. Another option is Proactive. My cousin had terrible acne and he tried al kinds of medicins and nothing worked, but the Proactive did. Now he has beautiful clear skin. I probably sound like a commercial, but that stuff is amazing.

I used to have acne but then I started using proactive and it cleared it up it works great it you follow it faithfully with all the steps and keep using it after your acne is gone. it will take time but if you are patient it is worth it in the long run.
PS If you have severe acne they have a presciption drug you take by mouth that works wonders but its kind of expensive i think its called acutane

Don't over wash your face. You do have healthy oils in your skin that you need. Never use soap on your face. Use a face washing cleanser and for pimples...instead of acne cream use a foot fungus cream..it heals bacteria infections faster and somestimes over night

Genetics help, but they do not make my skin impervious to flare ups.
As a rule, I try never to touch or rub my face. If I put on any kind of lotion, I make sure I wash my hands and use light amounts of high-quality moisturizers. I hope this helps.
Good luck.
