Even the catholic church admits Genesis is a story. The Book of Job is also just a story. What they do is take the meaning out of these books and apply them to there religion.
Example
God Created everything in the world(no time table)
God Created the First man and Woman
The first man and woman created original sin
Eden existed.

He was showing us how we are to be. Work six days and rest on the 7th day. God is setting an example all through the Bible.

The thing to remember is that evolution is still just a theory - a hypothesis, a speculation, an unproven assumption.
"From the beginning of the Creation God made them male and female..."-- Jesus (Mk. 10:6)
Scripture says God SPOKE all things into existence with His Word:
" By the Word of the Lord were the heavens created, and all the host by the breath of His mouth. For HE SPAKE AND IT WAS DONE; HE COMMANDED AND IT STOOD FAST". (psalm 33:9)
Evolutionist are always looking for a way to convince themselves of foolish things in spite of evidence to the contrary.
Evolutionists invent all sorts of things as they go along.....everytime something doesn't work out right they invent another theory to keep it current with the latest discovers which keep invalidating their last assumption....it is really laughable

you need to understand the time frame of the bible and what a day etc means in context of the bible. god conveys that He created all things and that is the key to the story not the 6 days etc.

The bible does not define how long a day was for God. I believe that the story is telling of stages in creation that God implemented.
This is an example how science and faith are compatible. Evolution in stages, and creationism in stages.

I don't question God. i just accept what He does for His own reasons. I agree with the person on here who said he did it for an example to us that we need to rest on the seventh day. Also, 7 is a number in the Bible that God favors. He used it alot. On the seventh day, God rested. I like that. He didn't NEED rest, but He rested. That's fantastic to me!

He did it because that was what He wanted to do. Ask Him in Heaven when or if you get there.
