It would make a good landmark and a good way to stop border jumpers.

We don't need to build a wall. We don't even need to build a fence..

The problem could be solved in a matter of days.. imprison and impose HEAVY fines on EVERY person who hires criminal immigrants.

Deny citizenship to any person born to people here illegally.

The motivation for them to come here would be gone.. and so they wouldn't.

Where were all of you “open border advocates”, “pro illegal aliens” when the following question was posed not once but twice, once last night and once today. NOT ONE OF YOU RESPONDED. I can call you out by screen name if you choose not to answer and ask you repeatedly after every less than informed post you make. Do you honestly believe that all “border jumpers” are honest hard working people out to make a buck. If you do you are not that smart.

It wouldn't make a good landmark because there is already a Great Wall and second who wants to go into the middle of the desert or a border town and see a wall. Second it would not stop them because there is just to much to gain by coming here. Besides they could just go around over or under the wall unless you manned it.

It currently requires an immense work force to monitor the United States/Mexico Border at an enormous cost to tax payers. What is the purpose of spending an astronomical figure to build penetratable structures that provide no more security than the existing default program.

Actually you could have rounded up illegals build it.
Then when they are done, you could give them a bottle of water and a sandwhich and up we go to the tube slide that deposits them back across the border ;P

We should, but our government is in so much debt because of the Iraqi war. We could not afford infustructure like that. Write to Bush about cutting the cost of the Iraqi war and to make the government more efficient it is extremely possible.

3. cost
4. Do you know how many people died building the great wall, I know i do not want my skeleton inside of it.
5. As a nation, we have no will to plug our borders up.

Sounds good to me. Would be well worth the man hours and expense. Probably could find a lot of volunteers willing to do the work.

Build a 40 foot wall and a 41 foot ladder defeats the wall. How about US employers quit hiring illegals instead. Much cheaper and less draconian.
