a friend of mine and i were doing an experiment to investigate the sensitivity of the skin to pressure. I used a pin to touch her at the palm of the hand and the upper arm and she complains the pain of the upper arm was greater. why is the pain in the upper arm greater

Skin sensitivity depends on how often the part of your skin touches the environment around you. You use your palm to touch things a lot, much more than you use your upper arm, so the upper arm skin is more sensitive. Did you notice that when people tattooed their upper arm with a barb wire style or something like that, they barely tattooed the inside of their upper arm? Because it will hurt a lot. That's where I think is the most sensitive skin.
