First--I'm so sorry for you. I know how hard a decision that is to make.
It depends on what kind of person you are. Some people need a time to grieve and some benefit more by replacing the pet immediately.
Be honest with yourself and make the decision.
God bless and good luck.

I know this has been said before, but I'm sorry for your loss.
If you have the facilities and $$ to take care of a puppy, then the only issue is when you feel ready. It took me a year to start to even consider getting a new dog after my dog died. My parents had a new dog within three months of putting their last one to sleep. It's all about when you feel ready (As has been stated several times)
I would still take the time to make a deliberate and considered decision (finding a breeder will take time and it may be a few months before they have a litter, it will take less time with a rescue dog)
A kitten will be able to adjust to a new dog a little easier, but as long as you take your time introducing the two, you can get a puppy with an older cat.
I hope this helps

You should get a new puppy as soon as you are ready for one. I would give yourself some time to get over the lost of your other dog but once you are ready for one....Get one!!! It will help take the place of your other dog and you would feel more comfortable with another dog cause you are most likely used to having a dog in the house!!

I'm so very sorry about your loss, all that I can tell you is when it feels right then to get a new pet then that is when the time is right. I can tell you from experience (I lost both of my parents within a year) there is NO time table for moarning. Just give yourself time and be happy that you still have a 7 1/2 month kitten to love you and that you can rub when she is inclined to let you.

It's totally up to you. Some people need time to grieve & aren't ready for a new dog for quite some time. Others can't stand that lonely, empty feeling & get a new dog right away. Since you have a kitten in your home that's been around a dog it shouldn't have too much of a hard time adjusting. Do what feels right to you!

I'm so sorry for the loss! I had my dog put to sleep when I was real young. It took us like 4 years before we got another because my mom always found something wrong with any that we wanted. Wait until you think you're ready to get another. Theres no hurry!

im very sorry to hear that. you can get a puppy whenever you would like to, make sure you feel ready. when you feel its time to get a new dog that is the time. just allow yourself to grieve a little, dont rush it too much. but maybe if you do get a new dog it will help you get through this. so honestly it is completly up to you.
good luck

I am very sorry for your loss! It really stinks to have a faithful companion leave you. When to get a new one depends on your own feelings. If you think you're ready, go ahead and get a new puppy right away...it actually will probably ease your sadness!!
