I just adopted a Blue Russian and she is very very anti-social. What can I do for her to come out and greet/play? All she does is hide ALL day!

You just need to be patient and give her some time. Russian Blues are extremely intelligent cats and she will be a thrill to have once you get used to each other. The best thing to do is keep your/her surroundings quiet and leave her be until she starts coming out and spending more time with you. Encourage her by talking to her, petting her "when she lets you" and being calm. Don't try to hold onto her if you pick her up and she wants down.
I would also spend some time on the floor or a chair close to where she is hiding and just talk to her. Let her get used to your voice and scent. When she comes out the first few times throw some toy mice for her to run after and then slowly gain her confidence. Give it time. It may take days or it may take weeks but it will work out as long as you don't rush it. You are in for a treat.

Cats are people too.. :-)

Individual cats I have had each had their own personality. They are not at all like dogs where you can say that a certian breed will have certian definate traits.

You cna find what your cat likes and do that when company comes over.

Like if your cat likes bacon treats then give the cat those in front of company.

If your cat likes to play with fuzzy things on a stick then do this in front of people.

Sometime you cat will just not like people under any circumstances.

Why is your cat antisocial? Is is that soes not like a lot of people? Not like noise? Not like to be touched? Not like to be in a lit room? Not like the sound of peoples voice? It could really be anything. Maybe you have company when your cat wants to nap. Is your cat tired when people come over? Is your cat a night player (up all night playing or exploring)?

Give her a little time and space. Everything in HER world has just changed. Make sure she has a quiet place to retreat to, and put her food and water in a quiet place (also her cat box, but not in the SAME place, as cats won't normally eat where they eliminate). In time, she'll know that you're "ok" and that her world is safe, and she'll be more sociable.

i had a russian blue and i loved him and then he died:( but usually they are very friendly) mb get her a friend to play with like another kitten to play with, so its like one of her kind.
when you said adopt, do you mean like from a pound??
if she was from there she might of had bad experience when she was really little and kind trust humans.

She's just shy & needs to know you more & feel safe & comfortable around you. Just give it some time.
