is therapy better then medication?

sometimes one is better than the other, sometimes they are used together.. if xanax isn't doing it for you ask for therapy..good luck and get well.

I believe therapy is much better, medication should be for extreme cases only and many doctors are beginning to feel this way because often antidepresants cause tons of side effects. For me i took them for anxiety and totally made my moods all over the place and messed with my head, so i got off them and did therapy, much better!

First, any time someone is on a psychotrophic drug, they should also be in counseling. Without counseling, you are not working through your issues, you are relying on the medication to just mask your feelings. Not good.

I suggest you get with a good counselor, discuss what is going on with you and find ways to forego medication when you can use behavior modification and know that you have control over your mind.

try to cut down on the xanax but with a doctor
i have exp with this xanax is worst feeling to withdrawal so be careful

Sometimes both therapy and medication are needed. It takes a little time for the meds to work good. It is really nice to have someone sit and listen to you and helping --teaching you how to cope. If I was not able to have both --I'd probably be dead.

In a way yes, drugs can have such negative effects that the negatives out weigh the positives. Plus natural is always best. "Why drug of such a gift when you can learn how to work with it."
