he seems really nice and told me he was single...when I offered him my girlfriends number he took down the digits but hasnt called her? Is it me or is that weird...why take a number if you're not going to use it?!

Just ask him.. "Hey are you ever gonna call my friend or did you lose her digits"??
Maybe he took the # as not to offend you. Remember not to push him on it. Maybe he wants to stay single... maybe he doesn't want to be "set up"... Are you single? Was that a not so subtle hint for you?? There could be lots of reasons... none of which you will know unless you ASK HIM...
