I have a friend, and he has been acting very strange the past few months. Sometimes he will just laugh to himself, and when I ask him what's funny he just says nothing. He just seems to laugh to himself alot and he is just acting very strange.
What could this mean? It doesn't seem normal to be, because it happens all the time, and I'm wondering if there is a problem?

I should mentiont that this happens all the time, and at random moments. It happens several times a day, and sometimes he will stop laughing when he has been alone and someone walks in on him ... I know it sounds weird ... but that's what I have noticed.

My friend did this too. It was after he got back from basic training. He used to follow me around and do everything I did. When he got back he did things like you described. He still does sometimes but it slacked off after a year or so. But I believe it is a way to show that they do not have to follow you. Its his way of telling himself that he is becoming independent from you. But don't worry me and my friend are still best friends.

It may not be a problem. The simple thought of thinking about something funny in the past will trigger laughs (I have had them before). If it is happening all the time, there may be something wrong, but also keep in mind this may be normal.

it could be that something REALLY weird and REALLY personal has happened, that he just tends to think about it alot, and it's funny in some way. and the part where u siad that when someone walks in he seems to just stop laughing, it could be the fact that it's personal that makes him feel that when someone just walks in he thinks they KNOW what he's laughing at in a weird way, but they really don't. but the odd feeling makes him stop.... if ur his really good friend, i advise just trying to talk to him and asking him waht's up. :-)

strange...you would know if this behavior was different from how he was before. How old is he? Some mental health disorders do not kick in until 15-18 years old...schizophrenia for example. keep observing him and try to talk with him...

When I am laughing to myself I am usually remembering something funny and private I dont want to share. Maybe he is in love with someone or is remembering someone he loved.

It could be his meds, or he could be farting beside you and laughing, or he could be laughing at you, or maybe he's laughing 'with' you not at you - like you have some dorky or cute lil' habits that only he is noticing.
Or, maybe he's just crazy

It's Harvey.
Leave him alone about it, and maybe just maybe the Rabbit will appear to you too.
