It will be made to the exact shade of your other teeth. The Dentist picks the shade with the use of a shade guide. Sometimes with difficult shades he calls the lab for their shade specialist to come over and decide yours. That's usually the case if you have a lot of white specks or stippling on your teeth. Most of the time the Dentist makes perfect choices. Most of the offices have changed their lights to the natural light florescent which eliminates the need to go outside in the daylight to check. When the veneer comes back from the lab he will let you look at it before permanently seating it. You won't be able to tell a difference when it's wet, but if you do, the shade is off and let the lab redo it. Occasionally with hard to match shades, the lab will ask you to come by so they can match it when they are ready to do that part of the veneer. Hope I've been of some help. Good luck!

I chipped a tooth, and it was a small enough chip that the dentist just made a sort of patch----the tooth shape is back, but i can see it isn't a perfect match. One reason, your natural enamel will absorb coffee, tea, food stains, and discolor naturally.
My friend cracked her tooth, and they ended up putting a cap on it, which is a whole new tooth and always looks sparkling white (costs a lot more, too ). So it depends how bad the damage is, and which route your dentist goes. GOOD LUCK !

Yes, they can make the veneer exactly the color of your other tooth. I had to get a crown on my front tooth after a car accident, and they did a custom match to get the color perfect. Tell them you want the veneer custom shaded, and if you're not happy with the color when you first see it, before they cement it permanently, tell them that you want it custom shaded. Be sure to look at the veneer in different lights before you accept it...go outside with a mirror, under florescent light....be sure it's what you want!
If your teeth are stained or discolored, you may want to consider whitening them a bit before you get the veneer, because once it's on, you can't change the color of the veneer with whitening products.
