I think of my self as a attractive guy, I get plenty of winks and smiles from the girls. But as soon as they know that I am hard of hearing, they dont want to talk to me anymore. Why is that? I am very nice and everything, but lack a good set of ears, why does that make such a difference?

I can not get a hearing aid, I have nerve damage and it wouldnt help. I can read lips very well and communication is not a problem. I just dont like to talk much because im insecure about how I sound, BTW im 25yrs old.

wouldnt make much of a difference to me, but i guess the girls you have come across are looking for "perfection" which they'll never find. but i dont see your ear problem as a big deal.

I am hard of hearing myself. First of all, if you act like it is a setback, they will too. Don't let it get in the way of anything in your life. Adapt. I'm sure you have already to some extent, but you need to do this with all aspects of your life and your mind. Second, if you don't have a hearing aid, get one. You would be amazed at what you are missing. 3rd, if a girl blows you off or is put off because of the hearing, she isn't worth a damn. It just shows how shallow she is, and you're better than that. Yes, even if she is drop dead gorgeous. As you get older, you'll find that these girls will grow up and finding dates gets easier. I'm in my forties and I still get asked out by women who know that I'm hard of hearing and married! Just be patient and confident.

There are girls out there somewhere who will relate to your hearing problem and want to help you and hopefully date with you. If its any help I also am a little hard of hearing but have managed to turn the problem into an advantage as I only hear what I want to hear and my dear wife accepts that. I feel sure that you will meet a girl like my wife soon. Good luck.

I don't know your age, but I am thinking the girls you're talking about are young and immature. I am 25 years old and my x-boyfriend is hard of hearing. We dated for 3 years and he broke up with me, not me with him.
I think the younger girls get scared away by this because they don't understand it or they think there's something ot cool about it. The older the girl, the less of an issue this will be.
Now, if you're in your 20's and this is happening, then don't worry about it, you're getting eye balled by the wrong girl. Any mature woman will not even see that your hard of hearing, they'll look at the rest of your qualities.

Women usually make men deaf anyway by the amount that they talk, and you are making a lot of hearing abled men jealous by not being able to hear what women have to say,you are not missing much, much of what they say is nonsense anyway.
Good luck with your hearing problem.

maybe it goes back to the question that jimbo had, if youre hard of hearing, they know youre not listening nearly as much because they talk so much?
other than that, i have no idea, id think it would be kind of selfish if they decided not to date you because you were hard of hearing, that s kind of selfish, imho.
