Yes you can wash the baby kitty with baby shampoo, You will need to keep it from his eyes even if it' tearless,Kittens are different from humans.also he will need to be dried good so it will not catch a cold..Run the water first then put the kitty in so the water does not scare him/her.Good luck,Kitty will probably have loose stool because cat's are lactose intolerable and are allergic to milk and dairy products.

I, too, have a long haired cat - she's usually pretty good at cleaning herself, but once in awhile (between trips to the groomer) she needs a bath. I use Johnson & Johnson's Baby Shampoo - the vet even suggested it. It works fine, allows the brush to go through her hair easily afterwards, and she dries within a few hours. Ignore the people suggesting not to use regular baby shampoo or not to wash her in general. The baby shampoo is more gentle and she'll appreciate you're attempt at helping maintain her coat. Words of advice: When bathing her, keep a towel handy and use a large sink; don't use hot water, only luke warm; rinse well - with long hair the soap tends to be a little more difficult to get out.

DON'T use soap.
DO use baby shampoo.
DO rinse it really well after the bath.
Why? Kittens lick themselves all over, and if there's any soap left on them they can get sick.
Baby shampoo is designed to be very mild and to rinse away completely (babies having delicate skin). So use a little baby shampoo in just mildly warm water and be sure to rinse the kitten well afterwards.

you should never use human soap or Shampoo on Animals it dries out their skin and the natural oils in the fur. Rinse with water and go get kitten shampoo.

In this case do it. Then when the stores are open get some cat shampoo. Lucky it was not a chocolate flavor. One day you will look back and laugh at what your cat did.

I'd just use warm water- but if you need soap dilute it a little-same with shampoo or you could dry out uits skin and cause dander or the kitten could lick the residue and get sick

Kittens, and cats for that matter, are extremely sensitive to chemicals so no you must go buy Kitten and puppy shampoo and please only wash with that. Especially because she is sooo young. Animal skin is extremely sensitive so noway should you use soap.
You don't have to spend much just spend right

please try to buy kitten shampoo because cats especially kittens are very delicate animal, slight unclean spot would caused them poisoned. Besides, baby shampoo has more level of chemical in it compare with kitten shampoo which was designed for kittens only.
