I honestly can't begin to understand the concept of 'loving God more than the people you love"...if somebody can explain it to, I'd be thankful.

I understand and being a father of 2, I have had the same thoughts. I "think" the reason for that saying is that people can turn on you, but God never will, so your allegiance should be to God. I just know that I can't believe that some people can hold their newborn in their arms and not believe in God because it's truly a miracle.

There is no doubt in my mind that God is the reason I have my two wonderful children. I was told I couldn't have any. Everything in life is because of God. My children are children of God, just as I am. He's our Heavenly Father. We are made by and for God.

God has fertilized my womb to be able to have that baby. God is the reason why my baby has lived to term and am now holding her in my arms. without God i have no children.

Because that "invisible God" is right there, your just blind to see Him. Who do you think gave you or whoever that baby anyways? You can love Him more because He created the whole world and is willing to save you and your baby from eternal damnation.

your love for your child is very different from the love for God. i would love God simply for giving me that newborn baby. love for the baby would greaten the love for God.

You can't. People matter. Love them, respect them, care for them.
You can love god when he sends you a check for your baby's college tuition.
