No, that doesn't make any sense at all. I'll go with the no purpose thing, thanks.

I have a purpose in life. Just like every other living thing here on earth. We all are born, grow up, reproduce, grow old, die and make room for those still to come. That's every plant, animal, fish, insect, etc.
How can we worship a creator if we don't believe the creator fairy tale ? If there was an almighty ( able to do anything and everything ) God, he would have spread his word over the whole world, and everybody would have the same religion with no differences.
Hundreds of wierd beliefs and religions have come and gone. How could that be if an almighty God was in charge ?

It makes sense to me that there is no inherent purpose to life. It just is. We can choose to fritter it away or spend it dreaming of a great hereafter or live it as fully and generously as possible.
Most people want to think about things in terms of end results, of purpose. This is why they don't understand how evolution works, they're going at it backwards. Look at it all from the beginning on. Purpose doesn't come into play until we develop sentience, which is quite recent in the scale of things. It's only been in the last several thousand years that we can even think in terms of purpose. What was our purpose before then?
If you need a received purpose to be happy, go for it. Personally, I try to live as I'd like to be remembered -- kind, caring and a lot of fun.

While you might find it comforting to believe in a creator to give you a sense of purpose, that doesn't make it true. What is comforting and what is true are often completely different things.
And the lack of a creator doesn't render life meaningless, instead it makes life more meaningful. Life itself is a miraculous sort of occurrence (just not a miracle in the religious sense - there is no god involved) and you should be glad and enjoy it while you have it! Take advantage of your life and take as many risks as you need to! Help your fellow humans and so on!
Also our purpose is largely defined by our genes, which control most aspects of our lives and culture.

In all of our human endeavors, the thing we can never do is to answer all questions.
Whatever the religion or discipline found in our various cultures, we always encounter
Mystery.
Accepting this, and living anyway, is the greatest faith we can have.
And greater than this, is Love.
And I'm no longer Chrisitan.
But the belief in this is strong.
Who cares where we came from?
We all do.
Can we really figure it out?
No, we weren't there.
So live with the mystery, and move on.
That is our place in the universe, the multiverse, the Tao, the...

Why do we need a purpose any deeper than being born, reproducing, and then dying? What is the purpose of an amoeba? Or a sparrow? What is the purpose of the Crab Nebula? Things just are, purposes are what people apply to them. We just simply are.

Does it make sense for a Creator to create terrible illness, kill children (I mean, if you look at it closely, isn't God the ultimate abortion provider), and create people just to watch them suffer and maim and kill each other? Doesn't it make more sense that this is all a biological accident, and our only purpose is to survive and spread our seed in order to assure future generations? Look at your question again and see if it truly makes sense.

Religiously minded person, why must we have purpose for existence??
No, it really makes no sense to me that God created us for no other purpose than to worship him. I mean, if thats the case, then your God is a seriously flawed creature - he calls himself all powerful and omniscient, yet he is really Jealous (by his own accounts - read Exodus 20:5) and egotistical, as he wants nothing more than eternal worship from his subjects. And that makes sense to you??

No, being put here to worship a creator makes no sense to me.
If a being was so powerful as to create the universe out of nothing, why would he/she/it NEED my pathetic worship?

We evolved from single celled organisms which was excited by kinetic energy from the big bang. We are the most intelligent form of life evolved form these cells, which led to all life on earth, and now our thoughts have reached so far that we have to now justify our existence. It just happened, we are not here to do anything apart from sustain out bodies - eat, drink, sleep, excrete, mate.

No that does not make more sense. What is the purpose of the Creator then?
I think once you admit that you only have so many years, life becomes much more meaningful.
