Hey, no one likes a know it all.

To the guy down below if we were made in gods image than god must have adapted to earths atmosphere and is subject to all our mere abilities to rationalize reality such as the five senses and a brain. Perhaps he has an epidermis to protect him from germs too. Guess what that's a contradiction.

I love it when they do the work for me.

God is absolute. Therefore, there is no difference between His thinking and His acting and His willing. When God thinks, immediately His thoughts become manifest. God does not have to choose between alternatives, because there is no meaning of alternative, this or that. It is a matter of "this AND that".

I believe He can, even if He weighs alternatives, surely He is not subject to the alternatives and can rightfully pick between them. I dont know why He wouldnt have options to choose from like we do, though He would know the outcome better than we would. Biblically He did think... reconsider, ask, change His mind and things like that so, yes I do believe He can think.

The dictionary defines "think" as :

1.to have a conscious mind, to some extent of reasoning, remembering experiences, making rational decisions, etc.
2. to employ one's mind rationally and objectively in evaluating or dealing with a given situation: Think carefully before you begin.
3. to have a certain thing as the subject of one's thoughts: I was thinking about you. We could think of nothing else.
4. to call something to one's conscious mind: I couldn't think of his phone number.
5. to consider something as a possible action, choice, etc.: She thought about cutting her hair.
6. to invent or conceive of something: We thought of a new plan.
7. to have consideration or regard for someone: Think of others first.
8. to esteem a person or thing as indicated: to think badly of someone.
9. to have a belief or opinion as indicated: I think so.
10. (of a device or machine, esp. a computer) to use artificial intelligence to perform an activity analogous to human thought.

Weird, but not a word saying "thinking means weighing alternatives".

So yeah, God can think, according to the dictionary.

GOD IS ABLE TO DO ANYTHING. Ephesians 3:20 He is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think. His capabilities goes beyond our imagination. Can he think? THINK ABOUT WHAT. What is there for God to think about? He knows all things and it's just a matter of time before his works are manifested for the human eye to see.

"How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them!" Psalm 139:17

I would think if someone has knowledge it doesn't mean necessarily they can act. God has both knowledge and will, knowledge for perfect information and will to choose his judgments or actions. And like you said anyone who weighs alternatives (makes choices) has thoughts.
