It will work but probably too late as if it was that hot it has burnt you on the way in. You need to blow on it before you put it in your mouth or if all else fails spit it out

Yes, but wiser to blow on it before putting it in your mouth and burning your tongue. As long as you breath in through the nose and out through the mouth, you blowing the heat out.
