I did this a few years ago because a family member needed a bone marrow transplant. In my city our local blood donor center is Blood Assurance. They took blood samples from me and added my name to the Bone Marrow Donors Registry.
Here's the National Marrow Donor Program's website.

There are sites for all countries too. If you don't live in the US, Google it.

The national Bone Marrow Registry is who you % to touch. i could pretty advise any and all sign in for this service. see for hyperlinks under for greater suggestion. i could sign in myself yet whilst i exchange into youthful and healthful, i exchange into too stupid to be attentive to they even existed. Now I even have lymphoma (diffuse large B cellular) and no person can % my marrow. i could interior the destiny be inquiring for the kindness of strangers for theirs as a rely of life and dying. i'm 38 years previous with a spouse and a couple of small little ones - variety of sucks to now be nonetheless youthful and extremely knowledgeable on the technology of marrow transplants. i'm now greater stated and am surprised at how many human beings have registered and given wide-unfold blood samples so that they are able to be typed and located interior the database. they are waiting to respond to a strangers call - the call to delight help save their lives. What a ideas-blowing feeling it will be to respond to that decision. Out on the internet are hundreds of human beings conserving journals of the SCT (stem cellular transplants). whilst some is an unrelated donor (Matched unrelated donor) its called a dirt transplant. The combat those all and sundry is dealing with is inspiring and that they are so grateful for his or her donors because of the fact without them they are lifeless.

Step 1. Confirm you meet basic donor guidelines.
Step 2. Complete the online registration form and order your tissue-typing kit for $52. This step will take about 30 minutes. You'll need a credit card to cover tissue-typing costs.
Step 3. Use the kit to give a swab of cheek cells to test for your tissue type.
