I'm having a Luau for a 6 year old girls birthday party, and I can't seem to find any music, or activities that I think a 6 year old would like. If you have any suggestions, please let me know! THANKS!!

I threw my daughter a luau birthday party and here are a few things we did.

Race:
1. Two buckets with a pair of sunglasses, grass skirt, lei, and a play guitar or bango
2. Have kids form 2 lines. each line about 6 ft from each bucket. Say go: have the first kid run up to basket and put on sunglasses, skirt and lei and play a few strings on guitar then take everything off. Run back and tag the next person in line. the first team to go through all the kids in their line wins. I recommend choosing the kids for the teams so no one feels left out

Bingo
Create about 5 - 10 different sheets of papar that have luau themed items on it arranged like a bingo card dont forget the free space. Then print the items used on all cards on one sheet of paper. Cut each item out and place in bucket. Pull out one item at a time and have teh children mark off the item if they have it. Keep it simple: Its bingo when they make any line. Play it a couple times to give more than one kid a chance to win

Hula instruction video:
Get a video that is for kids that can teach them to hula only play it for a little bit.

When the kids arrived:
Girls get grass skirt, lei, ankle lei (you can get these cheap at places like party city or oriental trading)
Boys put on sunglasses and lei

I got coconut cups and straws from oriental trading for kids to keep and they have many ideas for gift bags (oriental trading is cheap but good things)

Cake: the bakery did a volcano cake.

Hope this helps

I just had a luau party for my daughter this past summer. It was so much fun! I bought leis, sea shells and found some Lilo & Stitch cups at the Disney Store. I went online and found the Hawaiian version of every kids' name. Go to http://www.alohafriendsluau.com/names and you can get them there. We did the limbo stick, I found some temorary tatoos at a local party store. We made "mixed" drinks and put umbrellas in them. You could also have colored sand and have them make their own sand art to take home. I got a Lilo & Stitch CD and played it. On the inviations we asked the guests to wear their favorite Hawaiian shirt. It was a great time! Have fun with it.

orientaltrading.com is a good site for ideas! Thought about sand art projects? you could let them make their own smoothies with colorful straws and drink umbrellas?
