I was told that it is some kind of microchipping, but i know for a fact that this procedure is used to identify ones animals, and used for animals who are dangerous, so forth. Can any one be of help to the question above and is it illegal in delaware?

It doesn't make them bark and it's the best thing you can do to protect your dogs.
It's a grain-of-rice sized microchip that is injected between the shoulderblades of the dog. It contains a number (There are a few registries out there) that is linked to your Name, address and phone number.
If for some reason, a dog ever gets out without it's collar on and is taken to a vet or shelter, the first thing they do is scan them. If the dog is missing for any reason, you can call the registry 24/7 and have the dog placed on a "Hot List".

Sorry, there' some misunderstanding with this question. Do you mean, you give the dog injection to make him bark? Well, no. Microchip is like an ID or a passport. It's very useful if your animal got lost anywhere in your country, even 1000km away from your house if in the same country. I'm not very sure about overseas but some works as well. Better being microchipped than being put down because his collar is lost when he strays. It is forever ID never lost. Unless in very rare circumstances the chip moved along the skin. It doesn't do any harm in your dog in long-term at all. Good luck!

No, there is no injection that is given to dogs that will make them bark when scanned.
Microchipping is the implantation of a tiny (similar to a grain of rice) microchip that stores a number. If the dog is picked up by a shelter or vet with a scanner, they can scan the microchip, retrieve the number, and use a database to pull up information on the dog's owners (assuming the owners have registered the microchip). Some dogs might bark during the scanning process, but it doesn't hurt them at all - they'd be barking from being held still if anything.
There are collars that you can use to *keep* a dog from barking, but none that I know of that make a dog bark.

Dogs don't know the difference between the mailman and a bugler so they bark at anything they deem a threat. To get your dog to bark on command using electronic means, if not already, should be illegal in Delaware and everywhere else! Why would you even need to think of this? Maybe you should be asking yourself if you should even own a dog?!

No the injection won't but I suppose you could train your dog to bark when they see the scanner. I am not sure why you would want that but if so, teach them to bark on command and then tell the command every time you show the scanner.
I can see no reason why the dog would bark otherwise. Maybe someone trained the dog to bark at the scanner? Is the dog afraid of the scanner?
