Have real people died for fairy tales? If not, then why do you think the apostles DIED for the "fairy tale" of the Gospel of Christ? Do you think that conmen would die for a lie?! Keep in mind that when Jesus was arrested, the apostles fled, but when they witnessed his resurrection, they were killed for spreading the gospel.
what are your thoughts?

I am ABSENT belief in god.

People are willing to die on conviction. Conviction, however, does not necessarily indicate to me TRUTH. People are willing to die on faith. Faith is a really lousy way to determine the truth value of something.

The story of Jesus' resurrection is just that... another story. It's interesting that people claim this story is the only one that REALLY happened... when they base that assertion on nothing but their feelings.

Not all atheists believe God is a "fairytale." Atheists just do not believe in God(s).

The apostles firmly believed that Jesus was the Messiah, and in defense of this firm conviction, many of them gave up their lives. But realize that just because they believed it was true doesn't mean it was.

You probably think that Mohammad and his prophecies are nothing more than a meaningless fairy tale, but there have been just as many martyrs (if not more) for Islam as there have been for Christianity.

The actual truth behind something does not always reflect the actions taken by those who believe it.

Millions of European soldiers died for Hitler, Mussolini, Franco, the Kaiser, the Holy Roman Emperor, etc.. Millions of Asians died for their Emperors. These and many more died believing in what they were fighting for. Does that mean they were right? Gangsters kill and die believing in the brotherhood of their gangs. Does that make them wise and virtuous?

People die for lies and mistakes every day. This is not a proof for the validity of Christianity. Try again.

"Have real people died for fairy tales?"

Yes. Hundreds of thousands of them for hundreds of different fairy tales ranging from all the various gods to fictionalized accounts of King and Nation to cults to inane loyalties to sports teams to lies spread by one gang or mob about another to false beliefs about human physiology. Dying for a fairy tale is tremendously commonplace.

Now, if ALL of the believers in god died, I might reconsider.

If I maintain that the bible *is* a fairy tale, then there is also no proof that any apostle died for his beliefs, as that would be contained within the fairy tale, no?

People have died for many foolish things, placed their faith in fallacies.

I choose not to do so.

If people died for the 7 Dwarfs tomorrow, would that all of a sudden make the fairy tale true?

Weird logic you have, really.

Because every piece of info you used, is in the bible. And who wrote the bible? Humans did. Therefore it is capable of being wrong and is. Most people get their proof of god's existance in the stories in the bible. But then again, the bible is a book of stories and fables, written by people who had a limited knowledge of their actual surroundings, in the universe.

Also, I find it incredibly unlikely that the creator of the entire universe chose only ONE sect of humanity, jews, to show himself. Since in the bible the jews are often refered to "his" people. All that says is that the authors created god to make themselves feel special and important. When in reality, they or any of us are important, in the scale of the universe.
