and upset atheists who prefer to lead their own lives without Christian influence, have they ever considered leaving the country if they are forced to live under these standards?
I hear so many of them whine and whine about they are tired of Christians forcing policy down their throats, they want Christians to stop making laws, they don’t want to say God in the pledge, yada yada, but if it is this bad as they say, why are they still here? to me it's just another excuse to despise Christians because the last time I checked, it was congress not Christians making those policies and second, what has a Christian done directly to an atheist that would make him/her say that they are tired of Christians dictating the way he/she lives. If this is the case why do they still insist on living in this kind of malicious environment where they have no rights to choose and decide and be independent?

blacks have been segregated up until the middle of the 20th century, discriminated, beaten, rights have been violated and abused, actually blacks had NO rights and most of them are still being discriminated against. Native American land was stripped for westernized development. Nazi government discriminated the jews from shopping in stores, eating in restaurants, forced them to wear the star of David on their clothing to identify themselves, and eventually perished just because they were Jewish.

So now my question is to atheists, Is it really that bad as you say? you really feel as though the American government gives you no rights at all? You are forced to submit to an tyrannical Christian government that forces your children to say “under god” has the words of “in God we trust” on currency, or prohibits the use of certain scientifical technology such as stem cell research. To those atheists, I am so sorry that you feel as though you have to live in such second class standards where u feel oppressed and literally dependant to live your lives according to a malicious government that cares nothing about your rights and views. Again I apologize.

Dave- actually gays are marrying in other states where it is legal.
while i dont agree with religion being forced down upon an unwilling person, i hear so many complain about how christians influence laws and their right to live in the US. compared to other groups throughout history that had to succumb to a dictative government, atheists doesnt come near the level of maliciousness regarding discrimination and suppression.

i am not saying love it or leave it. what i am saying is, if something is so bad that you are just so fed up with being dictated, why do you continue to live in such a society? if i was disatisfied with the neighborhood i lived in, i would move. why would i continue to live there and complain?

No they don't want leave. They want to turn America into an athiest state like the old USSR.
You know you’re an Atheist Fundamentalist when:
1.) You believe that all life “evolved” due to a spontaneous explosion in space. But say the naturalistic Mayan belief that the Sun is our Father and the Moon is our Mother is absurd.
2.) You say it is impossible for God to always exist but believe the universe accomplished this impossible feat. And then you box yourself in by saying at one time there was nothing and that 0+0=1 is good math for “free thinking” people. To deny it would be blasphemy against the faith of science.
3.) You believe that “religion causes wars” and that an atheist world without any kind of moral precepts other than what is borrowed from those same religions would produce world peace. And this explains why Joseph Stalin was such a peace loving guy.
4.) You believe that amino acids assembled themselves into proteins and then those proteins assembled themselves into reproducing living cells that evolved into fish and later evolved into humans. And then at the same time you say “faith” is a ridiculous concept.
5.) That the conservative extinction rate in the fossil record of 10 to 100 species per year doesn’t pose a mathematical problem for species that take millions of years to evolve. And today’s extinction rate of 27,000 species per year doesn’t complicate this problem. And that we should let the “experts” do the hard math for us.
6.) You believe that amino acids spontaneously chained into proteins although you could try a trillion combinations a second for 5 billion years and still not use up all the possible non-protein combinations. And even if that did happen you only have one protein for your first “simple“ cell. And yet, you claim “it must have happened or we wouldn’t be here.” And that’s much smarter than believing Tarot cards.
7.) Although, there is absolutely no proof that evolution ever happened you hostilely point to adaptation as “proof” that “micro-evolution” is happing today. But flat earth believers pointing to a flat spot in the Sahara Desert as being a “micro flat earth” would be ridiculous.
8.) You loudly proclaim that Finch beaks adapt from large to small and that this “proves” evolution in action. Although we already know the DNA for large and small beaks already exists in both populations, and absolutely no new data is being created out of thin air. But rejecting the absurdity of evolution is being closed mined and religious.
9.) You believe in the beginning there was nothing and then it exploded. And since science has “proven” that there is no God it must have happened no matter how absurd it may sound. That’s not superstitious.
10.) You believe that all the works of Beethoven and Mozart are a result of a random explosion in space caused by nothing. But religious people must not be doing the math and therefore cannot understand the higher knowledge of true science.
11.) You believe that the second law of thermo dynamics is only science as long as you don’t apply it to the process of evolution. And that’s not the same as believing in magic.
12.) You praise the great wisdom of science like a religion and yet scorn all other religions.

If you really believed in the Constitution, you wouldn't be telling people to get out. They said that to blacks, Vietnam war protesters and union organizers. I personally don't think anyone would like to live here without christian values influencing policies, but every American has the right to work for change. And there needs to be a limit to Christian laws and policies too. Look at Michigan's new attitude towards adultery.
Everyone born in America belongs here--as do non criminal legal immigrants. If it were so bad I would work to change it. I belong here. So do atheists. It's a free country. Seems they ARE working for change. nothing wrong with that.
Love it or leave it is not the American way.

No one should have to leave the country because of the unconstitutional actions of others.
I don't want Christians to "stop making laws". I'm sure that would be impossible... how could I remove all Christians from all government? Like I said, impossible.
All I want is for people to respect the constitution and the separation of church and state. That's it.
And I'm not here saying that I have no rights at all. If you can recall me EVER posting that, please show me where.
Look... I don't imagine that anyone is being physically harmed by this. It neither breaks my leg nor picks my pocket when children have to say "under god" or when our money has "in god we trust" printed on it. That doesn't mean it's any less unconstitutional.
You may be comfortable with letting these unconstitutional breaches slide but I'm not. I don't pretend like it's the end of the world but I also don't pretend like it's nothing.
"To those atheists, I am so sorry that you feel as though you have to live in such second class standards where u feel oppressed and literally dependent to live your lives according to a malicious government that cares nothing about your rights and views. Again I apologize."
Apology accepted, I suppose.

Everyone seems to forget that the founders of this country and writers of the Constitution were God fearing men who were inspired by God to write that great document. They forget that the reason for seperation of church and state was not to remove God from our country, but to keep all religions in this country on equal footing. They were trying to prevent struggles such as the ones between the Protestants and Catholics in Europe, not remove God from our country.

Firstly, over 80% of Americans are Christian. My guess is that over 80% of the people in congress will be Christian. Therefore, we have Christians making laws. However, this really ought not to be a problem, as a lot of times Christians have good morals.
Secondly, atheists do got things shoved down their throats on how they ought to live. So do Muslims, Jews, Pagans, and everyone else who does not conform to the Bible. They are repeatedly told they're going to burn in Hell for all of eternity. They insist on living here because it's their home. You shouldn't have to move because of someone trying to force you to do something. Some can't afford to move to another country. Besides, there's already a struggle for space in some parts of the world.
Thirdly, they don't want any Gods thrust down their throats. For this reason, they want the word "God" removed from the pledge.
Fourthly, you talk about all sorts of discrimination done throughout history. You fail to mention how Pagans and witches have been murdered throughout history. Try a search for "The Burning Times". Even today, people lose their jobs, are lynched, are set ablaze, are stoned to death because of their religion. Wonder why you left that bit out.
Finally, it amuses me that you go on and on about how Christians are supposed to rule America, yet your screen name is the name of a Greek Goddess. In fact, she's the Queen of the Dead.

Atheists didn't want prayer in school, so we don't have it. They didn't want the word "God" in the pledge, so they don't say it anymore. They don't want the kids to celebrate christmas in school, so the kids have "The Holiday Season". Stores can't even say "Merry Christmas" anymore. I've even heard many who actually believe abortion is illegal in the US (Hello! It's legal), yet they continue to blame us for trying to end it. Not all pro-lifers are christians, but they don't want to hear that. Now, who's dictating policy?
They get whatever they want, because they complain and whine. They don't want a historical statue of the 10 commandments, then its gone. They don't want to be intimidated by the site of a cross, well, we must get rid of it. I hate to break it to these whiners, but unfortunately, they're winning, and they don't even have the sense to figure that out. I'm flaming tired of them! Taking God out of school worked really well, huh? Drive by shootings, shootings in school, no morals, no respect, gee, thanks atheists, you've done a bang up job!

Let me turn the question around - should Christians leave Massachusetts because gays can get married there?
I hear so many of them whine and whine about they are tired of judges forcing policy down their throats, they want judges to stop making laws, they don’t want to have gays saying marriage vows, yada yada, but if it is this bad as they say, why are they still here?

Have you ever known someone who just likes to argue for fun? That is the typical atheist. I think they really LIKE living in a country based on Christian values. It's certainly not harmful to them in any way...not really. They just enjoy the recreational argument. I think it's really typical of the atheist personality...and it really doesn't bother me at all...but then, I grew up with an atheist father. If he couldn't argue about religion, his next step would be politics. Usually, someone would bite. ;D
