I'm guessing that you mean the video game? I'm further guessing that your using a version of xp? See the problem?
If your using xp, just right click the file and choose 'Properties' at the bottom. In the 'Properties' dialog box hit the 'Compatibility' tab and check the 'Run this program in compatibility mode for' box. Next choose the OS. For the game The 11th Hour, it came out in 1995, so WIndows 95 should work, and Windows 98/Windows ME should work as well.
The other options like 'Run at 256 colors' may be needed if the games says it must be played at that low a setting. As old as it is, it very may need it but dont turn it on unless you need to. 256 sux and low resolutions sux too. You may need to turn it on and off a few times to get the setting right so just be patient.
Good luck and have fun.
