1 do you need to call the doctor?
To reduce temperature ;
TEPID ( not ice cold ) sponging,
start with one whole arm,
for-head and neck is very soothing .
THEN , gradually sponge all over
Do not dry it off ===allow the tepid water to EVAPORATE,
if you have a very high temperature,
you will shiver uncontrollably (rigours)
as your temperature reduces, so you will shiver LESS.
if you persist ,with the tepid sponging ,
your temperature will gradually go down , I promise !
then you can settle yourself down and sleep easy.
I hope you will feel much better soon

If your temperature is that high and tylenol or motrin are not bringing it down you need to see the doctor. Don't take a chance with this.
If you feel chills go ahead and put on a long sleeved t-shirt. Drink as much cold fluid as you can handle, but only if you don't feel nauseous.
Tepid (neither warm nor cold) baths can help, but not if you are shivering.
Please see a doctor soon.

If you have a fan then use that. You can also sok a face flannel or something in cold water, squeeze out excess & apply to forehead. If you are feeling brave you can also try a cold damp sponge or facecloth on the face, neck & armpit area. Hope you feel better soon. If your temp goes beyond 41-42 deg I would call your doctor

Sorry but you have to cool down to warm up!
Go and sit on the doorstep for a few minutes, or sponge down with some cool water. Or opeining the window wide for a bit might be enough in this weather.
You should stop shivering fairly soon!

Ice cold water compresses on the fore head, hands and feet, with Tylenol or Motrin. Generally one works better than the other on certain individuals.

I would say, have someone take you to the doctor. Might not be what you want to hear, but afterward you'll start to feel better. Fevers are serious business. Hope you feel better soon.

Wet wash rag will help. What is wrong with you that you take medicine? It might help to know this.
