the small bottles are impulse buys so the store owner makes a good profit and the large one are considerd a take home package and the grocery store normally loses money on the item.this normally brings in people into the store to purchase soda and the customer will usually pick up some mor eitems with a higher profit margin

Well I have owned a gas station so I know what exactly is the reason behind this. The 20 oz bottles contain better quality soda than the fountain or the 2 litre bottle, therefore even the store owners pay more for 20 oz bottles when they get them from the supplier. The fountain sodas are the cheapest but since they come in individual cups the store owners add the additional cost of cups/straws and lids to the cost of soda that you buy. Hence the price difference between the 2 litres and fountain sodas. Hope this helps!

Because when you are out shopping you would not buy a 2 liter and tote it around to drink. Kids can't handle a bottle that large and they are usually the reason we break down and buy things like that, anyway. There are times when it is not practical to buy a large one. Convenience always cost more for some reason.

It's a conspiracy to get us to drink more. Get us addicted and we can't stop. Fountain syrup costs like 3 cents per dose...it's all about the profit and selling enough of it to hook us. Drink water.

If you are intelligent enough to ask that question I am sure you are intelligent enough to reach to the conclusion that sodas are not good for health. Nothing substitutes water.

they get away with it, because we pay for them either way,as-long as we keep buying it, they'll keep doing it-its a matter of what we allow, sort of. if we said no I'm not buying it for that price, sooner or later Theda have to come down on price to sell there merchandise, right?
