Would you choose being judged and having a chance of experiencing eternal joy and happiness if found worthy, and eternal damnation if found unworthy, or take the option of just ceasing to exist? This is assuming you have lived a pretty average life, and possibly broken most of the "ten commandments" Or whatever your religion judges you by. Nothing major, no rape or murder, but nothing spectacular, no priestly behaviors either. Just an average everyday American.

Apparently all but a very few understood the question. IF IF IF IF IF IF IF IF IF IF IF you were not you, if you lived the life i described, awww screw it. This is what i get for posting a question in the religious section. I like the reasonable Judge answer best so far.

You don't choose that you must die. You don't choose when or to whom you are born. I don't see how it's possible to even think to choose what you want after you die. Further, I would dare not play God in this type of thing.

As for being "worthy" you're right, no one is worthy. Everyone broke the ten commandments (God's law). So as for the every day average american, unfortunately, the too have also lied. Jesus said if you look with lust you've committed adultry at heart. The bible says hating someone is the same as murder in your heart. God judges the thoughts and the heart of man. There goes 100% of americans (radical or not), have broken God's law. And by God's standards, because He is Just and Good, the average American deserves hell. Why? Because, how can you have any evil at all in heaven? It wouldn't be heaven then.

So you judge yourself by the 10 commandments. If you commit murder should a Judge let you off? Would you be innocent or guilty. Would you deserve heaven or hell? Wouldn't everyone deserve hell? The bible says so. It says all have fallen short of the Glory of God.

God did something so you don't have to go to hell though. He came as a man, lived the perfect life by not breaking any of the 10 commandments. Then he went to the cross and died in your place. Because of your sins, by God's standards you are a criminal like the thief on the cross. You deserve to be on that cross dieing, but Jesus died in your place, so that you can go free in God's courtroom. The bible says if you trust in Jesus for your salvation and repent of your sins, you will be saved and you don't have to make up what would be the best afterlife. You will know that you will go to heaven.

I'll take judgement. But that's because I'm LDS. We don't believe in a literal hell. The closest we believe in hell is a place called Outer Darkness and that is reserved for only the worst of humans (such as Caine). The rest of us will go to one of the three degrees of glory, the worst of which is better than our current situation. So I'm not concerned about judgement (though I do strive for the top kingdom so I can live with my Heavenly Father once more).

Well if you broke the 10 commandements and didn't ask for forgiveness and if you didn't follow Jesus by being an "average American" then you shold take ceasing since you would not be saved. Unless you repent of course.

Not only would I choose but I have chosen to experience eternal joy and happiness with Christ Jesus and God The Father. And I'm not worried because the death and resurrection of Christ has already made me worthy to receive such a reward.

Depends if I get to know who my judge is before hand, if it's Jesus, put me down for ceasing to exist. If it's a reasonable being sign me up for trial.

I opt out of those two choices; I stand with my choice... Asgard, I want to be with my Gods and my ancestors and loved ones who have passed on, then in time be reborn as one of my descendants. No heaven or hell for me, no eternal joy or eternal damnation. I don't want to live forever, I want to go down in a blaze of glory!

There isn't anything about me that is worthy of an eternity with God.But Jesus paid a price for me and because of Him I will face the judgment.

I'd like to work the Gate for St Peter while all the people who crapped on me on Earth were waiting to get in.
They would keep looking up to the front and seeing me. And be like, "Oh MY God. Is that the dude I screwed over?"
And they would start sweating, and keeping looking up to the front of the line and sweating some more. And when they got up to me and saw for sure it was me! I would just look at them, and watch them sweat. And start shaking, and then I'd say,
"Oh, alright! Go on in!"
