Okay, I have a HUGE knot in my hair!! its in the back where nobody can see it and its about an inch away from the roots. I have tried my conditioner and brushing it, but it just hurts so bad!! I don't want to chop it off, because it is alot of my hair...

what you could try doing is wet it really well, and keep putting the conditioner on. then use a comb (not a brush) to slowly try to work out the knot, while the conditioner is still on your hair, because that will keep the hair slippery and help it detangle. it works best if you use short downward strokes. also, maybe you should get a friend to help you try to detangle it.

Have someone spray it with a kids detangling spray or leave in conditioner. This will have to be someone with LOTS of patience. Then, while you're lounging in front of the TV, they can sit behind you and gently pull a few strands from the knot at a time. Start with the ones on the outside of the knot, and eventually it'll be small enough (just a few strands) that you can chop it off without noticing. They can use a pick, bobby pins, a chopstick, or something like that. I've done it many times before for my little sister.

Spray it w/ conditioner mixed w/ water and hold the top of the knot and start combing/brushing from the bottom and work your way up,whatever you do don't chop it off!

"woh what the heck is that cringly lump back there?" but i took out the scissors and almost chopped it off until my best friend, hallie started digging at it with the scissors! like what u do is open the scissors but don't chop. keep weaving through it with the sharp part, it worked to the point where i could hop in the shower and then brush it out. Thanx ya 4 picking me best answer....lol

ok, well i think the most easiest thing to do would be to go to your stylist, and let her try to get it out. when he/she does, make sure to always use conditioner and brush your hair thouroghly
