Yes if you consume to much water within a certian period of time you can get Water Intoxification and DIE. There are a couple of people that have already died from this

I recently had a patint that nearly died from drinking too much water. He flushed his system to the point where his potassium bottomed out. He said he drank nearly 2 gallons.

You can die from consuming too much of anything. In this case too much water causes water intoxication.

yes, just a few days a woman in California was doing a stupid contest on the radio. She died after drinking, I believe, 12 bottles.

Yes you can, I can't remember what it is called but some 20 year old mother just died because of it. I guess it replaces the sodium in your blood.
