Not revenge, but justice; the law cannot be denied. (For some reason I feel like I should be quoting Johnny Cash here - When the Man Comes to Town).

Wow! It's amazing how many people are unfamiliar with the following verses. Is that a testament to how friendship evangelism and the "love" Gospel have influenced the Church?

2 Thessalonians 1:7-9

when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven in blazing fire with his powerful angels. He will punish those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. They will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord and from the majesty of his power

Yes. I think this revenge will be on Satan and the anti-christ though and not so much on humans. He is coming to put an end to all the bad things in this world like sickness and wars.

If Jesus was "good" then why would he come back seeking revenge? That would be counter to his own teachings to "turn the other cheek."

Nothing about Jesus painted him as vengeful.
Everything I have heard about Jesus says he was kind and forgiving, the only people who incurred his anger were the rich, and those who worship god in church only, not in the home or in the heart.
Every one else, the criminals next to him on the cross, the prostitutes, the sick, poor, elderly, children, were loved by Jesus.
It is his followers who are judgmental and unforgiving, not Jesus.

jaja! revenge for what. He lives in an eternal present. Therefore he knows what we did, do and will do. (still, we have free will). He will come again to judge us all.
The first time was to save us from the sins. Now, is to End life as we know it. It is time to evaluate who has done right and wrong..

Well the Bible says we aren't to look forward to that day because it will be a day of reckoning so horrible that we can't even comprehend it.
