I would definately start with the four Gospels first. You are probably pretty familiar with most of what's there and they pretty much read like a story.
For Old Testament reading, the psalms are good if you like poetry. Besides, they are short so you can read just a couple at a time and not feel overwelmed. Otherwise, Genesis and Exodus have material that would be easy-ish to start with.
Whatever you choose, go easy on yourself. Better to read just a page or two a day with understanding than an entire book without comprehension. And there will be stuff that won't make sense. That's okay, too; reread it or come back to it again a couple days later.

A good place to start is a Bible with a concordance and searchable by topics. Here is a good one.

another interesting thing to do is to read the gospels in parallel. That is, read the same story...lets say the crucifixtion and resurection scenes...in each of the gospels. Notice how they are all different? Which one is correct...or are any of them? What WERE Jesus last words? Who WAS at the tomb that morning?
Compare the geneologies of Joseph in the Gospels. Notice they are different too. Why does the bible tell us about Joseph descending from the line of David? If God is the father of Jesus....shouldn't we have Mary's lineage instead????
When did snakes stop talking and eating dirt?
Why didn't Jesus know the fig tree was barren until he walked up to it?
Why is there no archeological evidence that a people known as the Israelites ever existed?
Questions...so many questions.
Answers? The bible has none.

Try starting with Psalms, Proverbs, and the New Testament. Just start out with a chapter at a time - or even a few verses. You could also get a devotional book because those help guide you a lot. Try "A Young Woman after God's Own Heart" by Elizabeth George. You can pray before and after you read. It's great that God has put a desire in your heart to read your Bible!
If you have any more questions I would talk to your youth group leaders.
God Bless!

You could get a devotional book form your church. There is a Bible version that divides all its chapters so you can read the whole Bible in a year. There also good paraphrased versions of the Bible that make it easier to read as they use modern language.
Join a study group, that way you will make friends that share your interest in the Bible and help you. If you want to do it on your own, then start with the gospels (Mathew, Mark, John, Luke) then Acts and the Letters.
May God bless you!

thats easy, and its a song!
lets go back to the very beginning; a very good place to start!
genesis is a fascinating section of the bible and then you could go to matthew, then mark, luke, then john to read about jesus. you could also get special bibles that have scriptures assign to certain days! (my bible has that) in the back there's a section the would say: Feburary 21st; Jn 14: 4-17 for example. plus you can see if theres a section where the scripture is meant for a certain feeling or occasion...for example; AFRAID Jn 1:1-20, Mk 4: 1-5 ya know? best of luck!

When I got saved I started in the New Testament-- which basically means 'New covenant'. Jesus made that covenant with God so we could be saved. I'm going to an event called "Aquire The Fire"... It's awesome.. every year the presence of God is just covering the place.
Start in Matthew, that's a good book. Acts and Romans are good too.
Revelations is a really cool book- it tells what will happen in the 'last days'.
God Bless

The Gospels; Mathew, Mark, Luke & John. And read a Psalm and a Proverb each day. After the Gospels, read 1,2 & 3 John.
Also, there are the everyday bibles, that have divided up the bible into daily readings to read the bible in 1 year.
And certain verses are a must. Renew your mind in the Word of God. If you sin, confess your sin to the Lord, and He is faithful & just to forgive you your sin and cleanses you from all unrighteousness. Without faith it is impossible to please God for those who come to Him must believe God Is and is a rewarder to those who diligently seek Him. God has promised to never leave you or forsake you.

Try the Gospel of John.
If you are going to start with Luke, keep in mind that the book of Acts is the sequel to Luke, and probably should be read next.
But it is simpler to simply read the Bible from beginning to end; that way it is easire to figure out where you left off.

Begin at the beginning; you won't be able to understand the New Testament without first understanding the Old Testament. They're BOTH in the Bible for a reason.
