I am sorry to say that,
you do need to be credit worthy, any where, to obtain loans ,,

eg.
to show the Bank ,that you will be able,
to pay back the money, you want to borrow..

If you cannot afford to pay back the loan,
and still live, eat and study....,how will you survive ,

Banks are not charities , they expect interest on their loans and prompt payment as well .

There are scholarships and bursaries that you may qualify for , and this will give you a basis to start .
Apply to the Collage or Universitie's, you are interested to join and enquire about the financial possibilities .

good luck

You have to demonstrate to the lenders satisfaction that you are credit worthy. That does not necessarily mean you have a credit history. However, most lenders these days are 'lazy' and depend on credit reports instead of actually making a determination of credit worthiness.

yes, get a capital1 credit card, use it where you would have used cash anyway, pay monthly by direct debit.
This will give you credit rating.

Where do you currently live? I know in Norway, education is free, even if you receive your PhD.
